So a lot of people objected to the World Cup of being hosted by Qatar for moral reasons… But let’s turn the heat up a little bit …. would you be OK if this was our club? Would you still object?

The Qatari owners of Paris Saint-Germain are looking at investing in a Premier League club.

Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who is the president of PSG and chairman of Qatar Sports Investments, met Daniel Levy, the executive chairman of Tottenham Hotspur, last week in a London hotel.

However, when contacted by Sky Sports News, Tottenham denied that a meeting took place.

Al-Khelaifi is also the president of the European Club Association and Levy is a member of its executive board.

No not really, but let's be honest, they are not going to buy anyone outside the R6.

imagine Leicester fans turning their nose up at this level of investment!

No, I wouldn't.

Having said that, what's becoming clear is that to compete with the top 6 (perhaps less than all 6) you must be owned by uber wealthy, shady people with unlimited funds.

The larger discussion that should be had is how can we make things more competitive. If we keep going the way that we are then the Leicesters, Wolves,  Villas of the epl will eventually get relegated and be up shits creek without paddles.

We either tell the top 6 to fuk off or get strict, doable salary caps .

i feel like a salary cap would only be an option if it was FIFA-wide. Otherwise all the best players would go to other parts of Europe and we’d be left with our entertainment coming from ‘ hard men’ grabbing each other by the throat again…

No one becomes a billionaire without having skeletons in their closet. I guess the level of dodgy-ness depends upon your moral compass.

If we want to continue to succeed, we’ll need further investment. PSG we’re given a fine of £56,000,000 for breaching FFP and it’s nothing to them really. Here’s us trying to balance the books to come near it.

I'd rather be in the Championship. It would firmly be it for me I think.

Football fans in general will drop to their knees and start unzipping at the first sign of a few POUND NOTES, no matter where the money has come from.

Will they be appointing Dyche, then?

Just fvck the criminals off, let them have their super league and take all the murderous, shameless money focussed scumbags with them.

and on a "draft system" Ill say it again. Drafts and salary caps create mediocrity and you will have tyo remove promotion relegation.

I don’t think it’d bother me in the slightest. The game is already lost in terms of moral and competitive ownerships. Potentially it’s better for teams like us going forwards as with money we won’t be bullied by the likes of Man Utd / Chelsea anymore.

I do think regardless we need a level of investment above what we have now - I sense the training ground build and stadium extension may attract new owners as well as recent history.

I think the novelty would soon wear off but I can see where you’re coming from.

Nah, that would probably be the last nail in the coffin for me.

Would that be the worst thing in the world? Only seems like a problem if you want English teams to be competitive in the champions league, if it would provide more competitive football here then most fans would benefit from that. That said, there's no chance we'd do it in isolation.
