Delusions of grandeur on this thread. Not saying that I would be particularly happy if they took Leicester over, but don’t pretend that our current ownership have always operated in an ethical manner.

A hard truth of life is that hardly anybody becomes a billionaire without engaging in shady activity. Of course, some are worse than others, but do not take the moral ground and act like King Power are a brilliant company.

If anybody is clueless as to what I’m referring to, read about the Thai Royal Family - they’re closely linked to Top, and have a very questionable track record when it comes to Human Rights.

I actually wish the Super League happened. Football is on its arse and we managed to clinch the PL and the FA Cup in the nick of time.

Needs a big reset and I’d have been delighted to see all of those clubs **** off for good.

It'd be absolutely horrific. It would be the death knell for the football club. The thing is, the easiest thing to do is to continue down this path until all the clubs in the division are owned by states and they start floating the idea of scrapping relegation again.

The thing is, I want to see excellent football so I'll still end up watching the Premier League and World Cup but my heart won't be in it. But who would care as long as the Premier League and its teams continue getting their exposure and their money.

The night we were confirmed as champions I drove down the ground beeping my horn, parked up near the Dry Dock and mingled with everyone else down outside the King Power, bought some sh!t knock-off t-shirt, walking round with my legs tingling and the adrenaline pumping with a great big grin on my face.

When we won the FA Cup, it was the day I got my first Covid jab, and I hugged my mates at the pub and I absolutely sobbed knowing that these were the best times a Leicester City fan has ever known.

If an oil state with a very questionable human rights record buys our club for sportswashing purposes, it would never ever be the same again. Not until they cleared off out of the picture. I don't think that adrenaline or those tears would return in that time, even if we won the Champions League.

Edit - LGBTQ+ rights are horrendous in Thailand, same-sex couples are not given the same rights as opposite sex couples and are not recognised, same sex couples and are also routinely informally repressed. I do feel we missed an opportunity during the World Cup to raise this with our ownership (who are the de facto Thai state).

There are some posters on here and fans that have never been taken in by King power and the owners. Just saying.

If being owned by the richest man in the world is your cup of tea then go and support the Saudi led Newcastle, the Qatar led PSG or the Abu Dhabi led Man City.

I'll be rotting in the ground before I see my club in those sorts of hands.

Is this the way football is going?

This is why Ronaldo signs for a non discript  football league.

$$$$$$.

It will be the death of football...

The way football has GONE, football is long dead IMO. Anyone that participates in it (ie hands over their money) supports it as no stakeholder is hiding their intentions for the game, yes I realise that means me!!

Weird thing is, I would have thought the opposite. Spurs is a more of an 'oven ready' product (sorry, that phrase is tarnished). I thought the investment required by either of the other clubs would appeal more.  Shows how wrong I can be.

...Spurs being in the capital speaks volumes!!!

When they bring their friends along,  to show off their new shiny acquisition,  a club in the capital is just the thing.

.. they would also take a wealth of talent and football money with them!!!

Just Imagine the amount of people who do not support these clubs, forking out good money, to watch an elite league in action.

We will be left to make up a lesser source of entertainment,  it will not sit right. Human nature makes us have a need to gravitate to want to be at the top, and thus  relentlessly competing to do so.

No I would not be happy.  The best thing about our achievements throughout the years is they were done against the odds.  Having an oil state as owner (aside from the moral question) just means that going forward we will expect to win everything and spend most of our time as fans disappointed due to having to compete with the other oil-state teams with similar levels of investment (although in fairness we currently spend most of our time disappointed due to the shambles we see on the pitch).  At least we can have a modicum of self-respect for the fact that we are/were trying to punch above our weight.  As has been mentioned before though - there's very few billionaires that are squeaky clean.  It's just shades of grey.

For me there's also the issue of our identity - Leicester are an English team even though we're owned by a Thai company and half our players are foreign.  To sign your club away to effectively be a part of a different nation state just seems wrong.  This isn't me coming over all Brexit/EDL, I just think it goes against the history and ethos of my club. I feel the same about the domination of the King Power branding of the stadium which detracts from the achievements we've made over the last 130 odd years.

I hope this happens! nothing better than celebrating a home win by climbing on the electrical substations/pylons outside the stadium, thats enough alone to buy the club. #GETITDONE

.. have you seen  the state of PSG, they are under achievers!!!

They spend a fortune to achieve very little. Do not forget recently beaten by Lille to the title, they need to take a long term view on what the want to develop and build slowly. This is not what we need or should be looking for.

The state of football is in the balance and all we are doing is looking for a seat at the pigs table.

BEst example of actually showing Leicester fan,who gnaw the bone of us failing,to achieve aspirations of the “should ofs”

We competed ,challenged and rattled cages of the hardenned top 6,but those last few games, actually shown the gap between, ourselves our attempt to get over that

so near but so far Distant line,of completing those seasons last 10 games, against

these clubs.

Their mental aptitude and quality of their squad players when called upon “IS” way  higher than all fans give credit for. ( too early to cry shit) We fell off because our EOS, last 8-5 game push was just too much, ditto for other clubs who went before & after our top 4 drive.

Their, &  our squads holding until the ‘End of the line’  ability, just misses out on that last needed punch…More often and not it’s a lower level physical & mental tiredness…often through other teammates injuries ,they have lost that collectiveness adrenaline which we held onto that once,  in our title year..

Maybe Newcastles coffers have found a way to close that gap of highering their

squad alround nous and that extra mental strength when needed. Though we need to wait & see if they have players that can step into that extra  “outer limits”  of hope..Then..!! Find that consistency over more seasons of finding & picking up those high quality of player, allowing them to create that future special era..

Since our title win, ourselves & other “ also rans”

have shown what poor, ill-fated and lack of squad investment costs we hopefulls…6-10 years of proof, for those hitting early form and finding reasonable success but not getting over that coveted consistent top 4-6 line.
Arsenal,Chelsea, & Spurs will have their odd off season…

but they often return to roost…Ditto L’pool.

Just look at Manutd /Chelsea so called poor seasons & turmoils, they push for EOS

top 6 & finish more often than not  with a place in Europe….

Mental strengths from within club for their players to hold technical & physical strengths until that last kick of the season…

Have you seen what Newcastle fans are acting like now? Acting like Billy big bollocks and bragging that they can buy anyone and any trophy they want. Ugly behaviour. That's you if you're ok with Leicester going down that path.

Personally I'd be gone, this bandwagon in general is getting quite dull now. The hype and commercialism of what is now quite often an inferior football experience or product is getting quite draining. I still like the fact that despite our problems we're out of it, though can't wait to get rid of the Rodgers circus.

I've quite enjoyed the escape of watching my son at a more semi professional level. A lot of keeness and effort with some decent football and much more a feeling of involvement and investment. There's more to life than Manchester City, Barcelona and PSG and the same old discussions about the same old teams, God they're so dull.
