Actually surprised how much dross Pearson and Walsh bought in (Futacs, Whitbread, Hamer as examples). Think alot of fans think they hit home runs with every signing.

From 21/22 onwards has been a shit show. Before that, other than Perez who was just over priced, we had some decent signings under Congerton like Justin, Castagne and Fofana. I don't think Praet was a bad signing, Rodgers for some reason just doesn't like him. 

 

Evans, Maddison and Ricardo in the same window was magnificent business! 

 

Ward, Ghezzal and Benkovic not so much 🤣

Why did we never make the Dragovic transfer permanent ?

 

He is only 31 now. 

 

I always remember him as a good defender. Better than a few others we've had playing there since.

This is why I say all managers buy rubbish too but people tend to forget.

 

Puel was so good for us. He stabled us, got rid of rubbish and bought some good players. Took us from a the bottom three and never had us in a relegation battle after that. Perfect for a manager like Rodgers to come in, take over, a just tweak us to make us better.

They were operating with a small budget though, when you consider the fee outlay, it's incredible what they did. If you are operating in loans, free transfers and small fees, you are generally going to get a lot of duffers.

Almost all the dross were free transfers or loans though who were always meant to be squad players. Anyone they spent money on was great.

Yeah that would be bonkers because it never happened. 

Mahrez was in the January and GTF in September. GTF was rushed through because Wood got injured because of a clash with Nugent.
