If a loss guaranteed Rodgers was booted out the door faster than you could say “In hindsight we should’ve done this at least 18 months ago but for some reason everyone kept swallowing his bullshit”, I’ll take a record breaking defeat.

Been a long time since I've felt hopeless that we can get anything from this game.

 

It honestly feels a bit like when we were drawn a Premier League team when we were in the Championship - getting anything from the game would be a huge shock. Which, when you consider our finances, recent history and playing personnel, is a damning reminder of how shite we've become under Rodgers. 

 

If the rumours are true and Iversen starts, that would be a positive change and at least some intent to try to make our situation a little better. Pound for pound (money, rather than weight), Danny Ward might be the worst goalkeeper we've ever had. I can't think of another keeper in the past 30 years who has been more detrimental to our defensive capabilities. It's screamingly obvious that our defenders have no faith in their keeper and from a recent interview, it even seems like he doesn't really back himself any more either. Iversen will be hungry to take his chance and he could prove a great solution - we've not seen anywhere near enough to make a decision, but it's safe to say that Ward isn't the answer.

We have only drawn 3 games this season that’s the joint lowest alongside Spurs. In all likelihood we either lose or win!

This is the problem. Given the clubs new ambition to just stay in the division, there’s no problem with the games won number but it’s not turning more of the defeats into draws that is currently an issue.

Not withstanding the previous assurances, the board reserve the right to dismiss the signatory, if the club should find itself in the bottom three of the Premier League at anytime after the commencement of the third quarter of the season. More over, said dismissal can be made with just one tenth of the previously agreed compensation.

 

That would explain those mini runs of good results. He does just enough to keep himself employed, even if we cant win for toffee at other times

We need something crazy and unexpected to kickstart our season and it needs to happen sooner rather than later. 
 

1-2 away win. Souttar and Vardy 88th and 91st minute. I was going to go 0-2 but even I’m not that fanciful.

If iverson plays in goal then pappy has to play. Iverson will follow Brendans’s edict of always playing out from the back and if wilf is selected as holding midfielder it will be a disaster. Brentford press high if they sniff any lack of competence……… we can’t spend the whole game kicking long down the middle as their CB’s will just take back possession. But we can’t play out because they will press us and we lack the confidence to do it. I think the only tactic is to push the full backs higher and kick towards the touchline close the the half way line. It won’t be pretty but it’s necessary.  I think the only game this season where Brendan was prepared to play it long almost the whole match was Man City. He needs to accept that however the point(s) come is acceptable. Today will show if he’s now grasped that.
