Play 3-4-1-2 again?

“We had one winger available and that was the reason why we did that. You have to be flexible in your system. Brentford play 4-3-3 and in certain games, they will play 3-5-2. You have to have flexibility. We had to make that adjustment because Barnes wasn’t fit to start. Him being available and Tete being available gives us an opportunity to play 4-3-3.”

...Tete needs to realise that game time is predicated on Barnes being fit!!!

  No Barnes, no play.

Players devoid of confidence and motivation will tend to make more of those kind of mistakes unfortunately

They are professionals and grown adults. They're pathetic, as is Rodgers.

Just hope that VK won't be the next to be frozen out given the rumours flying around of a possible fall out. The Elite One just seems to want pliable yes men in the team. It's the only plausible explanation for his continued devotion to the useless Ward and Amartey.

What are the rumours regarding VK ?

I can kind of get not playing Faes and Cags as a two as they are both a bit…rash in their playing style.

But with Faes out, there is not excuse in my mind not to put Soyuncu and Souttar at the back.

I'd go further and play Faes in midfield. He's comfortable on the Ball can pass and beat a man, Is strong in the air and can tackle.

He'd be perfect in midfield alongside Youri.

I think we are going to see Castagne shoe horned in to a back 3 to offer a bit of pace so he can keep this pathetic high line.

What I would like to see:

                     Iversen

Ricardo  Souttar   Cags Castagne

Tete     Mendy     KDH     Barnes

          Iheanacho    Daka

A deeper line and using the pace of the wide men and Daka to counter.

But never in a month of Sundays.

Why five defeats in a row?

“It’s concentration. We’ve just had costly moments in games. The Villa and Spurs games, we showed our level. We deserved to lose to Arsenal and United, despite a good start at Old Trafford. But we’ve had five other games where we’ve played well but not got the results. Fulham, Forest, Brighton, Southampton, and Chelsea. We’ve taken one point. There are moments in the games that are costing us. It’s not about the capability. It’s not about the knowledge, because they’re doing their job. It’s about concentration.”

Please tell me he's not talking about Fulham at home? We were dreadful.

Whilst I understand the press conference comments about lack of concentration and not making mistakes I worry about the message given to the players. The danger is getting into a spiral of negativity not creating changers or taking risks for fear of making mistakes. Ultimately I suspect against good attacking teams including Brentford we are going to make a few errors, so in order to win we have to try to positive and fearless (appreciate a lot easier said that done). The other thing that has been happening is a tailing off in performance in the second half of games and getting the substitutions right is so important.

He's very predictable as well - 60/65th minute subs.

This lack of concentration excuse is just a load of crap too. It's happening way too often and yet Rodgers is still unable to turn the tide.

He needs to stop banging in about 'resets' as well. He mentioned it again. How many resets does a club or team have to go through before realising that the players aren't the problem?!

Unfortunately, we are in a downward spiral. Make mistakes you’ll lose confidence. while lost confidence means you’re more likely to make mistakes. Then you lose belief when something happens against you. It’s a cycle of negativity, and that’s when a top manager stands out and can break it. Rodgers, to me, seems unable to break that cycle.

Brentford are the complete opposite, and the is the worry for us. I can only see one result here.

Just seen via that Sam Martin on Twitter that there’s a good chance Iversen starts tomorrow.

He’s right more often than not when it comes to our lineups in fairness.

Hope he's right been a long time coming
