We need something crazy and unexpected to kickstart our season and it needs to happen sooner rather than later.

1-2 away win. Souttar and Vardy 88th and 91st minute. I was going to go 0-2 but even I’m not that fanciful.

All the logic, the form book, and almost everything else points to a Brentford win. But that's exactly why City will win! No way will we lose 6 on the trot, and Brentford will perhaps still be fatigued from their midweek game and be over-confident, following that latest victory of theirs.

It's going to go like this - We'll pass the ball around, maybe create some half decent chances, we'll miss a few sitters because confidence has gone, then as soon as we come under pressure we'll make a mistake and they'll score first. And then we're ****ed. We can't get back into the game. Heads will drop. Brendan will make a few substitutions - bring on some even more sh*te players which makes things even worse. We'll concede another goal. The away end will be completely flat and silent. Top will completely ignore the result and pretend we're not getting relegated. End of story.

But, because we passed the ball around and had more possession, this allows everyone associated with brand Brendan to say we ‘controlled the game’ and if we had only taken our chances we would have been ‘just fine’.  Rinse and repeat.

This 100%.

If only the races/lottery were as easy to predict.

It’s a combination of the lack of fight and urgency on the pitch/sidelines that gets me.

Or maybe, I should say concentration 🤓

Is anyone in the ground yet? If so, is it a dry away end like last year?

Not sure the away end is going to be bouncing at 12.30 for any club…

I highly doubt it. Probably isn't even open yet.

Just not looking forward to it at all. Long gone are the days of being excited for match day.

They have to turn it around today surely .......

How many losses on the trot historically equalled the sack for our manager?

Asking for a friend so he knows when to cheer.

Looking at our manager history, and the respective season they got sacked in:

Puel - Sacked 24/02/2019 - 3 losses, winless run of 7 (including the Newport FA Cup loss)

Shakespeare - Sacked 17/10/2017 - 0 losses, sacked after 1 win in 8 at the start of the 16/17 season

Ranieri - Sacked 23/02/2017 - 5 losses, if only counting league (2 losses if including Millwall FA Cup loss)

Eriksson - Sacked 24/10/2011 - 1 loss

Sousa - Sacked 01/10/2010 - 3 losses, only 1 win in 9 in the league

Holloway - Sacked 23/05/2008 - 0 losses, but relegation

Allen - Sacked 29/08/2007 - 0 losses

Kelly - Sacked 11/04/2007 - 1 loss, winless run of 8

Levein - Sacked 25/01/2006 - 6 losses, winless run of 10 (if only counting league)

Bassett - Sacked 06/04/2002 - 2 losses, 1 win in 19 league games (only 3 wins in his whole time here)

Taylor - Sacked 30/09/2001 - 2 losses, 1 win in 8 league games at start of the season

Hope to see some urgency and fight from minute one from the lads today - recognising all that matters is 3 points. Up the citeh!

I am trying to be optimistic.

But...

The team will be announced and Ward will be in goal.   Amartey will probably be in defence.   Soumare might play.

Then I become pessimistic

The tactics cause the mistakes asking armarty to play out from the back is just asking him to make a mistake

As I said, it's both. He's a professional footballer. He should be able to do basic things and if not then he needs to sort himself out or be replaced.

If only there was another fit and available international player we could play.

Strangely confident today.

That’s fine but based on what? A feeling?

I don’t think Brentford have lost at home for 17 games? Dunno if that’s true but that’s what someone told me this am.
