jonny_wright Posted 8 April 2023 Posted 8 April 2023 Vile appointment, vile board, mismanagement from top to bottom, this was easily avoidable - but now we are in this mess, and with the squad turnover you wouldn’t back us to bounce straight back either - more of a death spiral. 1

Stinkenzo Posted 8 April 2023 Posted 8 April 2023 (edited) Would genuinely rather us just get Big Sam til end of the season and play it by there. If we go down, try and be adventurous and go for a Kompany like figure (Henry? ) or that Kettle bloke from Norway. If we stay up, then obviously a step up from those names, someone experienced who can oversee a rebuild. But Jesse Marsch is certainly pretty meh for the short term, then depending on what happens in the short term is still probably pretty meh at best for the long term. Edited 8 April 2023 by Stinky 2 1

chris_lcfc_85 Posted 8 April 2023 Posted 8 April 2023 What do people expect? We're a club on its arse both on and off the pitch with a huge rebuild in the summer regardless of division..... we're hardly going to get a top manager. Right now, we can't get any worse so I'd take anyone that might get some sort of fight 1

zdx Posted 8 April 2023 Posted 8 April 2023 Does anyone know whether Marsch retains links with Red Bull? I know obviously he went through their coach development programme and managed some of their clubs, but is he just on his own now, or is he advised / managed by them?

We actually would have been better off with Rodgers ...no we wouldn't!!! 2
Jaspa Posted 8 April 2023 Posted 8 April 2023 Oh I'll back him and support the Club and try to get down to see a Premier League game or two while I've still an opportunity. However I really can't see his style of play or lack of experience in The Championship helping him or us next season.
Popular Post Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 8 April 2023 Popular Post Posted 8 April 2023 (edited) Ask yourself if it can get any worse with him charge. After today I don’t think that’s possible. I began the day livid about Marsch, but now I’m so despondent that frankly I’m approaching not caring or thinking all he has to do is get an improvement from what we saw today. Md9 Posted 8 April 2023 Posted 8 April 2023 Who ever comes in now is in a no win situation because if we do some how stay up I am sure it will be see told your we were to good to Go down or oh look we got him in and went down anyway. I’d be very surprised if anyone could keep us up after today which is a shame and a waste of some good years of progress.

I'm not sure if there are some sort of contracted official links, but I know he holds very close connections to the RB empire around Europe given he's managed both clubs. RB work with many clubs in data analytics etc, I know Southampton started using Red Bulls data analysts as a result of Hasenhuttl going there, those analysts also work with Bayern. I know he also had a very close relationship with Ralph Rangnick who is basically the godfather of Red Bull in football. So I'm not sure if he still has any official capacity with them, but I would very much assume his connections are still strong there. He signed 4 players he had in the past for Leeds for a start. 1
NasPb Posted 8 April 2023 Posted 8 April 2023 This is an unmitigated disaster. I don't care what anyone says. I'm leicester till i die but there is not even a slither of hope with this appointment.. People talking about Ranieri, the most similar one we could get to him is rafa. Past successes but recently been poor. Rafa did miracle work with Newcastle Hassenhüttl at least HAS SOME BLOODY EXPERIENCE IN RELEGATION SITUATIONS and long term did the absolute best he could with Southampton Jesse marsch will get us relegated in 20th place. All things must fall. Even Rome fell. But we're not falling, we're in self destruct mode. TOP needs to get out of my club, he's allowed it to be rotten from the inside out. The only glimmering hope is that at least, we have an actual manager. I don't think marsch is an awful manager BUT HE'S NOT THE RIGHT ONE FOR OUR SITUATION

LVFox Posted 8 April 2023 Posted 8 April 2023 Ready to be lynched. But it's been a long time since we appointed a manager who didn't work for at least the short term. Even Shakespeare had a good honeymoon period. Maybe Sousa was the last absolute dud? 1

Ranieri was awful before he arrived at us, Puel also struggled before coming and by the time he left our squad was in a far better state than what he inherited. I understand the pessimism, it's not the most exciting signing, but saying we will be struggling in the championship is just pointless. Whoever it is needs 10000% support. Ranieri and Puel arrived to a well run club under Vichai. Marsch is walking into the Top S''' show 2
