Idea for improving community engagement with the fans.

Buskin' with Jon Ruskin. Weekly open mic session down at Seagrave on press conference days. Acoustic songs to sing the lads in and out and see if our head honcho Jon will come and do a chorus at least.

I still call bullshit on this stuff tbh. I'm not even particularly defending the club I just don't believe it would even really have been either possible or necessary to lie to Ruud and it's an insult to his intelligence to suggest he was duped.

We know for a fact he spoke to Enzo before he took the job, either Enzo is the worst friend in history or he'd have told him exactly what's up. The idea we somehow managed to pull off the exact same lie twice in a row is a bit far fetched.

And RVN's other job offer when he came here was in the second tier of German football for a club that make us look financially sound and well run. He's a middle of the road manager, who left his only previous job on bad terms and has very little on his cv except his fame as a player.

We could and should have hired better and he was lucky to get this job, we really wouldn't have needed to lie.

It just smacks of trying to push a narrative to sell a story. The real truth is just probably a lot more boring - we're in a mess and at the time we hired him we didn't really know what our PSR situation would look like come January or who we'd be able to shift on (which has been the case for years.)

It's not dishonesty, it's just incompetence.

So that'd make Ruud the liar then - 9th Jan 2025.

“We’re in the middle of the process,” the Leicester boss said on January signings.

“It’s clear where we want to strengthen. We’re working on that day and night. I feel a strong responsibility to get the right players in."

“It’s a delicate process. It takes time. It requires a lot of effort and work to bring in the right players.

“We’ve been creating a style of play and players who fit into that are the profiles who can get us to better results.

“Those are the profiles we have been talking about with recruitment and the people responsible for signing these players. It started in December and hopefully we can present something soon.”

“It’s important because of the situation we’re in. It demands we have to do better. It’s development of the current players and if there are players who fit in the picture, and can make the club better in the long term, then we have to do it.”

Idea for the next round of “Who are you”

Play your Rudders right…

You have a whole list of former Leicester players and we have to guess if the loss made by the club is higher or lower than the player  before…

Where are the lies in there?

Almost all of that is non specific, non statements.

Literally the only thing he says of any substance is that the club are trying to find players to sign. We know that that is true, not only because we signed one but it's fairly obvious we were testing the waters with a few others.

He doesn't mention budget or how much he's got to work with or if they're loans or permanent transfers that he's looking at.

I don't think anyone told a lie particularly, I think the situation has been the same since we let Rodgers sign a bunch of players that aren't good enough. We've been desperately trying to move them on, we need to reduce the wage bill and clear out the amortisation before we can add to both and we spent most of January trying to do that alongside looking for replacements and it didn't materialise. Again.

To iterate, I'm not defending the club or Rudkin, I think the whole thing is a shambles. I just don't believe for a second that we hired Ruud promising him a veritable war chest in January and then laughed in his face when the window opened.

It’s also not quite as straight cut as being lied to, there are lots of variables and the situation is constantly changing.
Moving certain players on, the right players being available. Prices for those players.

Once the window had shut, RVN said the following and why would he lie?
Especially as a manager with a history of stepping down with immediate effect, due to lack of support within a club.

The reality is not always as you wish," said Van Nistelrooy. "I was part of the picture and the communication so it didn't come as a surprise, the development from November to the end January, reality set in.

"What we have to deal with, the opportunity and restrictions go hand in hand.

"The idea was that there were certain possibilities, but when the numbers came on the table they were different. We had to reassess, look at possibilities within that framework.

"We weren't able to get them. Simple fact. That is the reality. We tried but the focus was on impact players to strengthen the squad. We did with Coulibaly, we were able to strengthen, but other possibilities weren't possible.

"I am quite pragmatic, get on with it, get the most out of what we have, there is young talent."

Fantastic idea, but I think that's maybe a bit lowbrow.

Think it needs to be more business focussed and to help get wider traction use a figure more well known alongside our Jon..

So how about 'Business tips with Rudderz and Chabudderz'?

Jon and Chabuddy G run through some of their successes in the business world, giving 'top' advice to budding ultrapaneers?

Can break up the high brow corporate chat with Chabuddy telling some stories of how he romanced Aldona, and Jon doing the same for Top.

Think there may also be an existing relationship as we likely use Chabuddy's internet cafe as the nerve centre during transfer windows...

I’ve tried Google Translate - nothing. :dunno:

Some of the banners and slides on the van might've been a bit harsh but what do you expect people to do when they're having their club taken the piss out of? They've earned it and more.

Agreed, however it didn’t quite get the reaction everyone expected, but was good to see the camera team put it on the big screen!
