We do seem to be well on the way to clearing most of the "Sunderland 'til I die" season 1 prerequisites off the checklist :

1. Expensive training ground that is unsustainable for running costs in lower division - check

2. Bad recruitment - check

2a. Employing Lee Congerton - check

2b. Employing Martyn Glover - check

3. Jack Rodwell-esque expensive DM on expensive contract and zero resale value: soumare - check Skipp (aka New-mare) - check

4. Having to sell any promising academy graduates the second anyone offers some cash - check.

5. Ingrained losing attitude in playing squad - check.

Just waiting on Simon Grayson to come home

The more you hear about how financially ****ed we are, the more I'm staggered not a single person has been sacked or moved on.

All the big hitters at the club know where the bodies are buried.

They won't be moved on without a change of ownership

Even better, we just need someone to call Ruud a ***** after the last and him to respond with “I’ve got four kids”.

This is what baffles me too. Top surely has some business IQ, if you notice your business is struggling so badly financially, surely you’ll be looking at the people making the decisions that influence that.

I think he’s probably just a bit thick. It’d explain a lot

He’s f***ed it that much the club can’t actually afford to sack the bloke who’s responsible for getting them in the mess.

Surely even an utter halfwit can look at say the Eduoard situation and say that seems a bit ****ed up! What’s going on, why am I pay for a guy who has actually done **** all.

Then again he thought this squad was good enough to compete which says it all really, this squad as it stands would be likely to struggle next year.

I doubt it …I call them the LCFC Net Zero XI - Ward, Hernandez, Benkovic, Bertrand, Silva, Kaputska, Diabate, Ghezzal, Edouard, Musa, Cannon.

I dont think it harsh to say they have eaten up millions of pounds of King Power money and offered absolutely nothing in return. And I do mean nothing.

And beyond them there’s another larger group whose contribution is barely measurable - Coulibally, Praet, Souttar, Soumare, Vestergaard, Bennett, Daka, Slimani, Okoli.

Not always the player’s fault but in terms of match day impact not too far from zero…

I don’t think it is entirely Rudkin’s fault, but to me our downfall in terms of squad management started with us not selling Tielemans and allowed him to run his contract down.

That started a trend and broke from our policy of selling players for a profit.

In fairness, it was an attempt by the club to gamble for higher achievements and keep the squad together.

But that started a trend of players becoming bigger than the club and letting deadwood remain in the club.

The other key decision that started our overall downfall was keeping Rodgers for far too long.

Still can’t believe how far we have fallen in a short space of time. 4 years ago, we had a top squad. Now we have barely the backbone of a decent Championship squad.

Our downfall was not inserting clauses into the contracts we gave out. Bilal will leave without us making anything on him because he was smart, he knew the possible outcomes. When we gave players and Rodgers these huge contracts, we didn't ask what if..... if these players and Rodgers were so sure of themselves, why didn't we put in a get out clause in their contracts ?

You don’t have to have built up a business to have good business IQ. King power is influenced by multiple key figures who trust Top to continue running the business, that surely shows he has some IQ no?

Not a single statement released 😔

Look at how vocal Tom Wagner is at Birmingham City and the plans they have for investment, steps forward etc. and their in league one 😄😠

You would think so wouldn't you. How much though was all his father and currently isn't he just one of a number of decision makers in the family business ie they can sideline him in that as damage limitation. He's starting to look a bit of a pudding and liability.

Musa we flipped a profit on, at least. So you could argue Edouard has been more costly than him.

But what did Musa do on the field? Was there a goal v Everton? My point is we keep signing players who literally never make the grade...(as I say, not always  entirely their fault..)

Not really, people inherit positions all the time due to family links.
