Might get to play Cov again

How is that a positive? We have total bragging right over the cleftheadeddiagonalwalkingwindowlickers, why give them a chance? Look what happened with the trees in the cup.

Apologies, I detest co*

I might start just enjoying it for what it is... days out with good mates. At least we won't get all the media scrutiny and I can maybe have a more relaxed attitude towards it, as long as we don't face a relegation battle in the championship, although that may not be beyond the realms of possibility.

The Championship is fun when you are doing well in it after years of struggling. Kind of the opposite experience the other way around.

If we did go down, if its Southampton and one of Forest or Bournemouth joining us then its quite wide open, especially if Sheff Utd and Boro get promoted.

Mid table for a few years then league 1

I think league one is a certainty. I can’t see how we can shift an entire squad out give or take, a few players, run the training ground, repay the stadium expansion and pretty much put together a whole new squad with the financial constraints of the championship, paired with our apparent financial woes.

It just won’t happen, and we know how strict the club are about not branching FFP. It’s all a bit of a mess…. I can’t see how anything positive can come from relegation…. The parachute payments won’t really help, and not to mention the mega loss in revenue…..

In short, I think we are buggared.

I’m fine with it, I’ve spent most of my adult life watching us in the second tier. European matches are a lot further away than Millllllllllllll, so there’s a green dividend to it too.

Thinking about who will stay

Iversen, KDH, Thomas, Hamza, Souttar, Kristiansen

Possibilities for Vardy, Ward, Amartey (who's gonna sign the latter two?!)

I imagine the likes of Braybrooke and McAteer will get more action. Hopefully Will Alves.

But it's going to be a significant clear out and equally investment needed in quality players to bring us back up.

It's a huge job and I think some are underestimating how tough it will be to bounce straight back (and sustainably to not become a yo-yo club again)

Imo the appointment we make now should be contingent for next season in the Championship. If we do get an interim we can't wait till the summer to look for a permanent manager. That work has to start now if we're to hit the ground running

I’m fine with it personally. But it’s a long slog of nasty fixtures. You have to have both the squad depth and the fight to go and win at Stoke on a cold Tuesday night.

It means more 3pm ko’s though. Seeing a different set of players and seeing who steps us to shine across the season.

We’ll see. Personally I’ve not get given up hope that we’ll stay up.

A few years ago, didn't someone start a football cliché thread? Can't be arsed to find it.

Do you think we will carry on with stadium expansion should we end up in the championship? I’m sure there was an assumption we’d be in the premier league and using that dosh to subsidise the costs

Yeah I think it was started by one of the younger lads on FT, but to be fair, ‘you won’t win anything with kids’.

(Sorry, couldn’t think of any others yet, it’s early..)

We ain't even got that. We've spent it already.

Unless top funds 180m out his own pocket, or sells to someone who can the remaining option is we are no longer able to pay the playing staff which essentially means we'll be docked points or kicked out

Heard someone in a happy mood on the way out going on about the awaydays next season - feckin hell understand it ain’t my place to moderate someone’s opinion. But I had to bite my lip.

It’s fun and games on a piece of paper. But then you charged £30 + , games on even weirder times than the PL, your highlights are lost on some channel no one knows. But most of all, a far, far higher chance of Don ****ING Goodman commentating on you.

Roll on Rotherham on a Tuesday night in a void of atmosphere

You missed out Rudkin, & Whelan off the list as to who will stay.

No VAR, no glory hunters and no jumping through hoops for tickets.

Honestly after this season's "reforms", one of the only positives I can see is the club getting desperate to get fans through the doors again.

But I do remember how miserable that decade outside of the Prem was for the most part.
