Happy with this.

I thought all you lot wanted Brendan sacked? Two questions for you:

a) who/what did you want once you got your wish?

b) who/what did you think Top, Whelan and Rudkin were actually going to deliver?

Be honest.

Didn’t care who took over when Brendan was sacked, the football he was delivering would be improved with pretty much any professional manager.
I didn’t really have faith in Top/Rudkin/Whelan given how they have managed this decline and how long they took to sack Rodgers, but was honestly maybe expecting and appointment like this (I didn’t actually think specifically of Smith). I was expecting Big Sam.

I really can’t see Smith, Shakey and Terry doing a worse job than Rodgers, Stowell and Sadler and it was time to roll the dice.

My only thought is that this should have been done a week ago. 2 winnable home games wasted with SAS. At least Shakespeare knows Amartey is shite.

Let's hope that there's a bounce and the board haven't left it too late.

Dean Smith isn't coming in because he's the very best we could ever hope to attract or because Rodgers was such a mega genius there was no way of filling the void he left, it's because we've waited until April to do anything. I think most sane people who wanted him out would really quite liked to have seen action taken far earlier when we could still have realistically attracted decent managers from other clubs because the situation wasn't quite so dire. Our board being clueless is not in my opinion a compelling reason to stick with someone who was doing such a wretched job.

What was it you had seen from Rodgers this season that made you think he was worth persevering with?

Nothing. It was what I had seen from Top, Whelan and Rudkin that meant I knew the result would be chaos and we would get an objectively worse manager.

That’s the most frustrating thing. With these three in charge who knows what results we could have got from the last 3 games.

I don't doubt his defensive talents..   or his determination.

But I can't compromise.  I know what he said.

Yeah that's unforgivable as was doing what he did to Wayne Bridge. Lower than a snakes belly on both.

True but worse can often turn it around. Shakespeare is objectively worse than Ranieri but he turned the ship around when Ranieri got sacked. Hopefully we get the same bounce now, let’s face it, it couldn’t have got a huge amount worse under Rodgers.

Just get them in ASAP, may as well roll the dice.

My only fear is that there's no amount of shouting or commanding of respect that can affect the players at this point because many of them are expecting to leave very shortly anyway.

Why does everyone keep saying Rodgers was sacked ?? Mutual agreement was the official word from the club and listening to some people they reckon Rodgers initiated the departure to save face so he didn’t have a relegation on his C.V which would make sense with the timing and having no replacement ready.

Someone might complain that the use of the colour blue is too strongly linked to the word Blues, meaning Birmingham City…

When I see "Mutual agreement" I understand it to mean "we won't say we sacked you but we won't pay you your contract in full either."

If he initiated it, what would there be to agree on? If he quit he gets nothing so no need for talks about his departure like Percy reported was happening.

Looking forward to use scraping safety on the last day of the season, John Terry wearing full Leicester kit complete with shin pads celebrating on the pitch.

This is the right choice with the limited options we have. Feeling strangely optimistic !

It’s the only choice. Everyone else had turned us down. lol

As a Norwich fan this is not a good appointment and definitely not what you need. No clear philosophy of play. No plan b when it doesn't work. No idea how to change a game with subs being far to late or just identical subs. If you are to stay up and I really hope you do, do not appoint Smith and co!

Be gone with your negativity.
