Confused at that review (the process, not the players going for it). Clearly hits the bat so much that the ball moves direction, but doesn't show any nick or spike. Weird.

Assuming snicko works for sharp, quick sounds as the ball is clipped by the bat, but a situation like that with a "slower" sound doesn't get picked up.

How is that not out? 

 

Stump is away from the bail? Bairstow's glove touches the stump but the bail is away from the stump before the bat is in?

Bairstow has effed it up. If the bail is up before the ball is in his gloves it's not out.
