A polite reminder yet again that the Aussies haven't chased this many to win an Ashes Test since 1948 and there have only been two successful chases bigger than this in history at this ground (and one of those was also 281).

That historical record and the current weather conditions makes England at least 60/40 favourites now IMO - even though, somehow, the bookies have them at 7/5.

Makes me slightly more optimistic so thanks. Just wish we had another 20 or 30 on the board. Exciting though

England are the value bet, certainly.

All of the above being said, it really is all going to come down to momentum tonight. If the Aussies are sitting there on around 100 with less than two down, you'd fancy their momentum to carry them through tomorrow. If, however, England can get them three or four down, the momentum will lie with them.

We wait and see.

Drop duckett, and have foakes open and keep

Crawley out, Bairstow up, Foakes in.

None of this is going to happen. Even if we lose this one then McCullum and Stokes will double down.

Was just about to comment that there's been nothing even close to a wicket then that happens. Amazing how the ball hitting the pocket (a bit of cloth) can make such a sound.

Lucky. They have had the luck in this match.

To be fair, Warner would have easily reviewed it had umpire given it out.

Can't see us getting ten wickets here, so it's the Aussies game to lose.

Shame we didn't go with someone like Ahmed rather than Mooen. Yeah, he'd have gone for runs but he's also potentially a match winner. I certainly think he'd have offered way more of a threat than Ali does, even if he hadn't ripped his finger open - and why wasn't that considered before they picked him? Surely you know as he's hardly bowled at all, that there's a strong likelihood he'll struggle and have an issue with his spinning finger?
