To be fair, with cricket there's known to be lots of flexibility, and whenever tickets are bought it does come with a notice saying times of play may change. Understand it may not work with other sports though.

Sure but not brought forward earlier because it looks like it might rain later. If you do that then you might aswell start taking lunch an hour later because it's going to rain hard at 2pm, then where does it end

I am once again asking the ECB to stop scheduling games in the North (anywhere north of Luton) or Cardiff, where it rains every day, and only schedule them in the South (except Cardiff), where it never rains.

Wouldn't be a problem if they had started at Lords on the Thursday, which is traditional.

The Lord’s things not true is it? Thought Lord’s was usually the second one. The first always been at different venues in my lifetime. Cardiff’s held the first one for at least once.

Yeah I think Lords has always been second.

At least 52 overs. That's more than time enough for a result.

Well, either Aus make their target or we bowl them out. It's going to be good.

Guess which idiot bet on a draw...

Its not out of the question

What he said. Would need further rain interruptions, but that's entirely possible.

Intriguing few hours ahead of the rain holds off.  Real jeopardy here for the Aussies if they decide to go aggressive.  Hopefully under leaden skies that ball will be nibbling nicely.

I haven't really been following the cricket this past week - (too much sport happening!) - but now it's the only thing on, (well, until Murray's tennis match later ;) ), I'm not feeling particularly optimistic?  :frantics:

Pitch is absolutely dead. Need to hang in there until the new ball and having a fighting chance. Or just bowl incredibly disciplined.

Look like we're taking the disciplined approach. Aussies looks cautious
