We have avoided this since the HK asia cup tournament in 2017 (I think it was 2017 but it could have been 2018) 

 

why now are we restarting if it isn’t financial ?

Of course it’s financial. Why else do clubs go out there other than $$$. Klopp and other managers have regularly talked about how going all the way out there is the worst possible prep for a tough season. 

I hope they announce some fun pre season games, I loved leuven last year

Stupid pointless tour.  Get back to basics and get some proper friendlies in so we can try and teach our players how to play in aggressive, physical matches against lower division sides.

It would be nice to finish with a glamour home tie against higher level opponents like Luton, Brentford or Bournemouth.

Well we won’t pay for any travel costs and I bet we take at least 500k as a fee.   (Given we were PL when the thing was arranged it could be double that)

Mate, i reckon we could turn up and get a game on day 1. I have no faith that we will have a striker or any recognisable midfielders. The only positions we will be able to fill are GK and defenders, largely because our new defenders were all put on long contracts and no one will want them.

effin' laughable, we have a bunch of right plonkers running the club currently. The main ambition must be to get relegated to League 2 so that we can add that to complete the domestic set of trophies.

I’m just assuming that we won’t be Friday or Saturday because of our Asian commitments 

sky will want us on tv first weekend which means Sunday lunchtime game ??

They will put us on Friday night, regardless of our pre season fixtures. And it’s 100% nailed on our first game will be Plymouth at home, on TV, and they will batter us…. And those fans who ‘quite like the championship’ can listen to Ex-Forest Prutton talk about how shit we are with LCFC guesting legend Rab Douglas.

That might apply if Sky are covering this "tournament". But the chances are it will be Viaplay or some streaming company & if so I doubt Sky will take the timing of our Singapore game into account
