Ironically he is one of the biggest reasons we are in this mess. His downturn in form is incredible. Bodgers and Smith continuing to play him instead of Mendy is another big reason. Fair play to him though, the first proper apology from a player. Maybe he recognised that he played a big part in the failure.

Started to really drop off when Rodgers tried to make him well rounded. 2019/20 he was absolutely fantastic as the anchor in a 4141. Nowhere near as good in a double pivot in a 4231.

I'll give Ndidi credit for making the statement. It has to be hard for the players to know what they should say especially when their future is so much in the air.

 

However I feel that he is apologising because that is what we want to hear. I've noticed a lot of people thinking that those wanting to see players reactions are wanting an apology or portion blame. But it's not

 

We want to see that the players at least share the fans disappointment.

 

Our players have came under criticism for lack of effort, and the most stinging thing about this relegation (and I've seen a fair few) is that the question over whether certain players actually give a damn is still hotly debated. When we've gone done before we have never questioned the players attitude as much as we have this season.
