when_you're_smiling Posted 21 June 2023 Posted 21 June 2023 I’ve got Nelly Furtado’s Maneater in my head now.

Never seen him, only read various in depth articles which seem to proclaim him as a generational talent from their country. It makes sense he goes to Leuven 1st, but as we have absolutely zero wingers I'd not be surprised if we had a look at him 1st. Not sure if we can sign 2 or 4 players who wouldn't ordinarily obtain a work permit. If its 2 and we opt to keep Opoku and Mueanta then that's us done in that regard for now. 3

Is that per season or all time until they leave?

LVFox Posted 21 June 2023 Posted 21 June 2023 Granted, youtube videos are not a good indicator at all, but kid looks talented. Composed finisher and moves well off the ball. Think we could do a lot worse than have him as a squad option across the winger/forward areas. 1

Funny 'cos I watched one and thought he made my first touch look like Riyad's I'll genuinely be surprised if he ever plays for Leicester in a competitive game. Edited 21 June 2023 by Finnegan 1 1

TiffToff88 Posted 21 June 2023 Posted 21 June 2023 Decent on FM23 in the Spanish second tier when I signed him in my Tenerife save. Couldn't make the step up when we got promoted though!

Jobs for the boys would be insisting Enzo starts him up front regardless of how good he is. Using international relationships to try and find talent around the world is something almost every major club does on some level. If he's not good enough he'll be loaned out and then sold like every other development squad prospect we've bought for peanuts and sold on. 9 1
Red Squirrel Posted 21 June 2023 Posted 21 June 2023 His song is already pre-determined.... altogether now Super Supanat Super Supanat Super Supanat Super Mueanta (has to be moo-e-anta to work before some clever dick fluent in Thai corrects me)
Gerard Posted 21 June 2023 Posted 21 June 2023 Just googled him and he was a bit of a wonderkid on FM as an 18yo, pretty good stats here. Some may mock but it's not the worst thinbg to look at when you have little to no information. https://fminside.net/players/2-fm-22/23414964-suphanat-mueanta
ALC Fox Posted 21 June 2023 Posted 21 June 2023 (edited) Imagine if he and Opoku turn out to be the next Riyad and Vardy. Not that I'm getting carried away, of course Edited 21 June 2023 by ALC Fox

South Shire Fox Posted 21 June 2023 Posted 21 June 2023 Dont particularly like us signing Thai players just to please Top. Gives me Nigel Pearson signing his son James vibes even though he clearly wasnt good enough. Everything should be done for the good of the club, not jobs for the boys or throwing shit at a wall and hoping it sticks

Nothing wrong with this 2

Everything should be done for the good of the club, not jobs for the boys or throwing shit at a wall and hoping it sticks I wouldn’t really say signing a highly rated young player in Asian football as simply being done just to please Top or a job for the boys. Having that connection and our links with Thai football in recent years is for the good of the club as like in this case it gives us a chance to look at these players and have them over for trials before anyone else can. Even if he doesn’t work out for us this kind of deal is entirely risk free, and it is also exactly the kind of deal we should be looking to do more. Edited 21 June 2023 by moore_94 6
Lambert09 Posted 21 June 2023 Posted 21 June 2023 (edited) this lad has to be exceptionally gifted to make it, as someone who lived in thailand for almost 3 years i can confirm that they rarely slide and heading is frowned upon… I’d be very surprised if he didn’t get absolutely destroyed in the championship. He won’t be used to any form of physical battle and the game will almost be like a different sport to him. I’d play against some incredibly gifted players over there, but if you use any form of strength it was so easy to get the ball. He might be good enough that it really doesn’t matter, but just from my observations i know it might take a very long time to adapt, if he ever can. Edited 21 June 2023 by Lambert09 1
