Left winger, was a bit fringe for Montpellier racking up 14.6 lots of 90 minutes in League and Cup last year compared to Barnes 36.3.

That said, he compares like so:

He managed 0.27 goals and 0.14 assists for a combined productivity of 0.41 every 90 minutes. In the same period, Barnes scored 0.36 goals but 0.08 assists for a combined 0.44 per 90.

Barnes slightly outperformed his xG last year scoring 0.14 goals per 90 minutes more than "expected." By comparison, Mavidi scored 0.02 per 90 less than expected, making Barnes a more reliable finisher.

Mavidi is slightly more inclined to shoot, taking 2.53 shots a game to Barnes 2.48 and he's also predisposed to shoot from slightly further out, averaging a shot from 16.8 yards to Barnes 15.9.

They have identical expected assists at 0.07 per 90 but Mavidi typically plays more key passes (0.91) per game than Barnes (0.63.)

Finally with dribbling, Mavidi had a much higher % of succesful take ons (43.2%) compared to Barnes (29.7%) but Barnes typically carries for further progress in terms of distance despite Mavidi carrying the ball further overall which suggests a lot of dribbling sideways and backwards.

And all of this was a massive waste of time because the source is garbage and we're probably not even scouting him. But it's Monday morning and I'm procrastinating already.

Not massively far off how I’d list Barnes’ strengths and weaknesses? Barnes is a direct runner, bit of a 1-2 merchant, and he can finish. Barnes is fairly poor in the air, poor defensively, not the best dribbler, poor at retaining the ball, not great at passing, but his discipline is alright.

Our Recruitment Team are truly excellent at discovering players that other Clubs are trying to off load at ridiculously high fees and wages.  #heiscomingin.

If this is the fake target being used to persuade Piroe to come to us we’ll have to wait for Piroe and his agent to stop laughing before they can pick up the phone and arrange a trip to Seagrave

They aren't really comparable.

Piroe is essentially a Nacho replacement, Mavididi is a Barnes replacement.

They have moderately similar strengths and weaknesses to those current City players and I imagine they're being lined up as options if we have to sell either of them.

When we sell them both is much more the reality.
