Since then, he has been awful, I think he had 3 good games in 35. Terrible decision-making, always trying to score, infuriating ball hog. And he sustained other injuries. I think he still has good potential (he used to be fast and clinical finisher), but he needs to regain his confidence.

I'm normally one of the first to advocate listening to fans of the clubs we're trying to sign players from. But to be fair, what they're describing does sound like a classic case of lacking confidence and a player really just needing a fresh start, a good summer to rest and hopefully working with the right coach. He's not going to be being a greedy ball-hog under Maresca, I mean that's just one thing he's not going to tolerate, it's not compatible with his philosophy at all.
