If we can't compete with the big 6 in the PL because they spend more on wages and transfers than we did, nobody should lay a glove on us - that's how it works on FT anyway.

I would question these figures.

According to our accounts for 21/22, our wage bill was 182 million.

I don't see how we have reduced it to 62m from then to now.

I assume the 182m included every club employee, and the 62m may only include players, but it still seems unrealistic

The last set of accounts for Cardiff for example has their at 22m and Plymouth were 5.5m (21/22)

Yeah I think it's much worse than this, from the departures we've had I can only work out roughly 800k a week having left the club at the absolute maximum, that's 40m a year.

Our wage bill is almost identical to the total wage bill of every club in the bottom half combined.  lol

I have no faith in any of the figures.

I know a lot on here are quick to dismiss it but it has been reported by the likes of Percy that most in the squad had relegation clauses that saw their wage reduced by 35-50% upon relegation....

Add in the wages of those players that have left and the 62m number makes more sense.

How the hell would anyone know what our wage bill would be? I mean, yeah it's likely to be the largest considering what it was in the premier league. But these links are just total and utter horse shite.

The fact Cov (and Luton) got to the play off final on such a small budget is incredible. Even Millwall and Blackburn constantly being around the top 6 is given they are both amond the lowest budgets. Rotherham continue to do well just surviving in the league.

Interesting Bristol City are that high considering people are on here always tell me how their wages are being trimmed.

Sigh... consistently, you can't compete consistently.

If we spent £64m on wages, along with being able to buy player, after player after player, like the biggest 5 or 6 clubs do, for 10 years plus... it's a damn site more likely we wouldn't be in the league than we would.

Tell me a premier league team outside the very biggest ones, that's not had oil baron money, that has consistently competed for top 6 places in the league. I''ll answer, there hasn't been one.

They have Coventry wage bill as 4m in the last publish account they are 14m!

Trust them if you like, but they are nowhere near right.
