Why wouldn’t you sell in January. We are still technically a PL club and Jan does have inflated prices. Depends if Chelsea think getting Mads in gives them a genuine chance of getting the title - I think it would. I mean Mads gives us a chance of getting a few more points but realistically we won’t get enough to stay up now so sell and bring in a good Championship keeper if we can.

Selling after finishing second bottom and desperate for the cash would put us at a further disadvantage.

Have you seen the other clubs in the bottom? It’s not exactly prime Barca we’re competing with. Would be mad to sell him and Chelsea already has Jörgensen who I’m sure will be their no. 1 next season and maybe sooner.

The real question is why RVN chooses Ward and not a real keeper as backup

Eh? Why would him not being fit mean we're selling him in Jan?lol

Some fans will just spin agendas I swear.

Because if he was going the injury would be stretched out if big money was on the table. Probably wrong though but PSR book balancing will be required in Jan if we’re to bring in the quality and quantity. Obviously I don’t want him to.

Are u mad

Yeah I can get that sort of response. The thing is, this side that has to persist with Justin, Ayew, Coady or Faes etc. is going down. Put ability to one side, there isn’t enough competition. The only way we stay up is if we role the dice. £50m in Jan gives us that chance. Mads is going to be an elite keeper. We’ve had some greats. Whether we can get someone with the same potential is doubtful but (if we can ignore Ward) there are some good keepers out there.

if/when we go down, £35/£40m is quite a hit,

We are going to get the same price for him in the summer than we are in Jan, if anything there'll be more bidders — regardless of what division we're in.

Anyone willing to take the hit in Jan is a moron.

But that didn’t happen when we had two, three assets last time we went down ? How much did we sell Maddison and Barnes for ? £35/40m ? How did that happen ? Surely if we were in the PL, there’s £5/£10m extra there. We are going down with 1 asset this time and a side void of competition. Can we fund the January spree and keep quality, no idea what the answer to that is ?

Anyway, he is far too good for us and I’m sure he will continue to perform heroics. Likelihood is we need 11 positive results (5 wins, 6 draws) to get to 35 points. Whether he can do that is another thing.

I feel there is nothing more important in my life right now that this guy getting fit and back in the first team.

Out till at least the Villa game.

Please FFS If RVN puts Ward in goal v Liverpool it’ll be a world record for most goals scored in a Top flight game, surely Ruud won’t play him Thursday night 🙏🙏🙏 would rather have one of the kids in goal if the other two are not fit !!

Neither Barnes nor Maddison (good as they were) were as fundamental to our chances of survival as Hermansen is now. He is, categorically, our best player. We are down if he leaves. If you think selling him and leaving that budget in the hands of recruitment staff who can't wipe their own arse is the right way to go then you're wrong.

There is evidently *some* cash in January and we need to use that smartly. We can't sell Mads.

If for example Wolves, tomorrow, decided to sell Cunha to fund some kind of January spree, we'd be laughing.

Mads....  enzo here, could you feign an injury over Christmas keep yourself fit and well and jan 1st we will have the paperwork ready and a car to collect you to to London chelsea, on offer is  much higher wages, champions league football next season. A title challenge, this or next season and other trophies or would you rather stay at that mad chaotic piss poorly run club, a relegation  fight then back to the championship and or stay there and worry, in  case of   accusations of "arnt any players loyal' these days?

You're the best keeper in the league  aim higher  you deserve it.

I can’t think of many better keepers in the league. You’re right, sell him and we’re down for sure. But one day he’ll go and hopefully we’ll be in a position to reinvest to improve further. My concern is that we’ll have to sell to balance the books/keep the club running.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if he's not actually injured and he's saving himself for an early January transfer to Chelsea

As said above, why on earth would we decide to play him for a half against Newcastle then sub him if this logic is correct? He isn't going to be moving in January

If we wait until we're relegated the value drops drastically. We need to sell him in January to Chelsea for crazy money & buy 2 or 3 Premier league defenders. Stolarczyk can do the job for us but not with Coady,Vesty & Faes in front of him.

Would you sell him in Jan if it meant we could go shopping for some players and stay within FFP?

What is he worth letting go for?

depends how much we'd get for him, if we get an OTT price i think the club would consider it, cos JS showed hes a decent replacement

i stand by the fact hes a £35/40mil keeper, giving his age, ability with his feet and his shot stopping

He’s elite, and wouldn’t be with us if we got relegated.

Whilst not quite as good Jakub is a really good keeper. So if £50m in Jan meant all of it spent on 3 permanent and 2 loans for a striker, a CB, RB, CAM, and winger, I’d cash in now and wish him well

also they only just brought a keeper in the summer, why would they buy Hermansen now

they certainly wont pay what £30mil which i suspect we'd ask for

also atm, I'd say its more towards someone like Man City than Chelsea

I think he isnt playing for us again, self declared injury at HT to get off the pitch, and I think he wants to make sure can get his move, I think winks is off as well, winks not played since that party.

Keeper today passed audition, Mads be sold in Jan I reckon.  Will see if I am right, but we can only sell our best players, its the way our current lot work.
