He is JJ on the other side of the pitch, but probably not even at JJs level. I'd rather see Thomas again, his few outings this season have been decent and he at least seems to have the energy and enthusiasm, which is going to count for something in the shit or bust situation we now find ourselves in.

A man of character, but a footballer that doesn't make the PL cut. I would thank him for his efforts and sell to the highest bidder.

I’ve said it since he arrived.

Lots of effort.

Not good enough.

I prefer Thomas.

Couldn't believe what I was seeing at the game, so thought I'd make a sensible judgement after rewatching, and yes he was absolutely awful.

Just basic positioning, basic tracking, basic passing, a fail on everything.

It makes you realise how far we have fallen when you see Palace able to bring Chilwell in on loan, but we are stuck with Kristiansen on a long term deal.

I know people will blame Mavididi for the first but really he's got no business bombing that far forward when he takes an age to get back. I'd rather play Thomas at this point.

It's breaks my heart that we'd heavily scouted Kerkez (or at the very least agents strongly recommended signing him to us) and were heavily linked with buying him and then we bid a similar fee for Kristiansen.

Viktor is steady but has obvious limitations both in defence and attack. The sort of player we should have signed if he was €5m but not 3 times that. Typical of us.

He isn't great, usually a 5 or 6 out of 10 most games, will not give anything really of significance going forward and sometimes defensively goes missing, BUT I think sometimes some people forget how bad Thomas is. It's like replacing a miss firing Ford Mondeo with a Datsun Sunny with no engine.

If Justin is fit for Brentford, after that injury, I'm sure we'd see Coulibaly in, rather than Thomas. As to who'd be right or left, that's open to debate. If JJ isn't fit, then yes, Coulibaly on the right, Thomas on the left.

As a fanbase, we don't half pick odd scapegoats, don't we?

I'd wager most of those who call out VK are the same as those who are perfectly ok with BdcR standing around avoiding doing anything wrong.

I’ll get rinsed for this but I’d consider converting Fatawu into a fullback/wingback if we go down.

There are some good examples of wingers successfully transitioning into fullbacks over the years and I’ve always though Abdul has the attributes to do it.

He does, his defensive workrate is really underappreciated (and made the signing of Ayew even more stupid) but you need him further up the pitch. Unless you go 3-5-2 and ask the wingbacks to provide all the width and attack, it's a waste of him.

I think as a wingback in a 343 putting him behind another winger would be fine.  I think solely as a fullback it's a total waste unless his injury has ruined him.

The fullbacks you see that have transitioned to FB from wingers in their career have done it largely because they're limited in the attack.  Fatawu isn't.

Mavididi was an absolute plonker for that first. If you want to see the advert for why Ruud plays Ayew, it's right there. The cross from Victor was clearly part of the tactics, and Mavididi has refused to play it all season, and in this case drifting centalling and cheaply gives the ball away - and we are screwed on the counter.

Sadly your suggestion may be flawed... 😬

Going against the grain here, I think VK is okay - nothing more, nothing less. I can see him being a handful for Championship defences if we decide to keep hold of him.

My frustration is that he's a decent player who works hard, but he does switch off far too often, and that's obviously costly in the prem. I think IF he could work with a decent coach who can help him eradicate that from his game, then we might have a good player on our hands.

Unlike BDCR, Ayew etc at least VK is young enough to improve rather than being clearly on the slide.

Reasonable comments, he's likeable, but how much did we pay for him?

What a window January 2023 was :dunno:

He played well for Bologna last season and they finished in top 4. He’s not fantastic but he’s nowhere our worst player. He isn’t paralysed in possession like Justin and he’s a better one on one defender.

Coulibaly looked competent enough yesterday. Whether Justin is injured or not he has to start.

The fact that people are suggesting starting Luke Thomas is a good idea shows how low the bar has become this season! Along with Kasey, the most limited and hopeless player we have at the club.

Yesterday for the second goal, he was literally stood with okoli 😂,

why don't you just do a simple job of marking merino. How hard is that.

Why give him a easy free strike
