Stealing a living at this point, as does about a vast majority of players in the first team.

Shame football players can't be sued for refusal to work, only benched. Not playing doesn't hurt as much any more as not earning £££.

Congrats to our club management for rewarding players for not doing their job.

There's no incentive to do better.

Our wage is bill is exorbitant. Smart clubs give out financial perks for extraordinary performances.

I like it when he does 6 step overs and then his attempt to put the ball in the far corner is blocked. I like when he tries this 10 times a game.

Even better when he has the chance to cross but waits for a defender so he can try to skin him, if he does he then cuts back for a second go.  Under thinks and over plays.  He's a young Ayew.  He isn't a team player, he hasn't got the instincts of a winger.

This. Just run at your man FFS. Stop with the stepovers, stop cutting back, just beat your bloody man and go direct.

There is an even easier route called the pass and move.  None of our coaching team and wingers seem to have heard of this tactic.  They will try and do the difficult part, fail, pass back and just stand still, no attempt to run into space to receive a forward pass yet our wingers and full backs get opened every game like this.  Monga has been badly coached and hasn't been shown how to transfer his street ball skills to be useful in a team.

I was a big fan of Stephy but he’s been terrible and inconsistent for a long time now. Seems like his confidence is rock bottom.

He is more than capable of creating chances and scoring goals in this division, it’s his lack of application and body language that is letting him down. He’s really not what we need in a relegation fight, put it that way.

The popcorn and his reaction to Birmingham admin sums him up. A petulant child.
Another who’s self rating vs ability ratio is off the scale

This is just completely made up nonsense this is

So please share your insights into why he is now so goddam awful! He is certainly not the player we once saw and currently a complete liability playing against opposition where he should be delivering so much more.

Like most I think he suffered from the absolutely useless management of Shituentes. It has knocked confidence to a new low, but some of these players need to take responsibility for their own performance even if the club appoints a clueless clown.

I dont really know but I'm not going to make up complete waffle about him being jealous of Fatawu lol

I've never seen a winger so reluctant to be a winger. You'd think he weighed 25 stone and had 2 left feet with how little he backs himself to just get at this man and try and beat him.

Never particularly liked him and even when hes been at his best, i thought he's been average.

Was sh1t for large periods under Enzo too, ended up getting dropped and then upped his game, slightly.

Yeah it gets overlooked too much but under Enzo his output was actually somewhere between par and below par when you compare him to other top wingers in the league historically.

We dominated most games and had on average 60-75% possession in a system that is literally set up to feed wingers and put them in 1v1 situations yet his output didn’t really stand out.

Is he just unfit? He’s obviously quick but I’ve barely seen him beat a fullback all season.

Appointing a manager (free agent) halfway through preseason (confirmed as a Championship club about 3 months prior) was an abysmal dereliction of duty from Top/Rudkin.

I think people tend to remember what they want. Mavididi has had a decent half a season here (under Enzo) and that's all. Nothing to do with jealousy (?) but just that he's not as good as what people like to think or remember.

Well I see a player who regularly has the pass available and chooses not to make it. Fatawu is just as guilty. So not sure it’s waffle. Both these players have fallen off a cliff in terms of delivery, both have an appalling workrate. As stated by Fox92  Mavididi had a partial bright spell under Enzo but has been pretty dire since. Something is not right.

They're all talk ain't they? Everyone at this club, barely any have ever backed it up.

Said it years ago - they've got the worst traits of Arsenal and a fraction of the talent.

Looks like a bloke who has zero confidence in himself and his team mates, the cockiness and swagger has fully gone and he just doesnt look like he knows how to have any impact.

Too true. Something isn't right inasmuch as he's not a particularly talented footballer and has a lousy attitude. He's shown flashes here and there, at times in a decent second tier side, but mostly in awful second or first tier sides.

As well as being mostly poor, he's been the embodiment of our passive, uninterested and entitled culture among the playing staff. His body language on the pitch has almost always seemed petulant, sulky, immature, mentally weak, and whenever I've heard him speak I've been utterly unsurprised by how he comes across. If he'd been subjected to the kind of character-check we'd implement in the Pearson/Walsh era, they'd have had his picture up on the office wall as the epitome of the kind of character you shouldn't touch with a forty foot pole.

In the all-time league table of our players, he's in the same mire as the Keith Gillespies of the world. If anyone remembers him, it won't be with any fondness. If I were him, given that he's never had such an extended stay in the first team of any other club, I'd want to do something about that. But he hasn't got the gumption, the pride, the motivation, the humility, or the self-discipline.

Well, I'm not going to argue too much. 2004/05 he was one of the best players, albeit in a poor side. There was that thing in Spain though, I suppose.

The point I'm trying to make is that if you tier Leicester players in ten descending brackets, with Vardy, Chandler, Mahrez, McLintock in the top one, and the likes of Barry Hayles or Marc North in the tenth, then Stephy is going to be keeping Norman Leet, Junior Lewis and Tony Spearing company. Regardless of whether he cost more, or could - in a parallel universe - have been a more effective player.

Correct. Stephy is poor to average.Just another one stealing a living here.

He's one of those players that looks good in a dominant team, but as soon as the going gets tough he disappears. He's the last person we need in a relegation battle.
