Not been bad, but it definitely feels very obvious that Hermansen isn't in goal

Of course. I think Mads might have done something better with that first goal as well. Mads is one of the best in the league, but i think Jakub is much better that Iversen and has looked pretty comfortable with his feet too.

I don't think there's that much between him and Iversen to be honest, if we stay up and Mads (which he will) goes we'll need a new first choice keeper.

Iversens distribution is almost criminal. There is a big difference between the 2.

Do not think Mads would have saved any of the goals Jakub has conceded this season.

Afraid that’s unlikely to be true

mads was saving efforts that he wasn’t expected to

Jacub is way ahead of ward as a keeper but he isn’t saving stuff that you think - ‘wow, how has he saved that’.   Mads was doing that. Without his injury we’d have nicked a few more points given that some games we’ve lost since were fairly tight.

I like him. The only thing he's missing currently is that presence and confidence you need as a goalkeeper but that'll come with expensive.

He will never get any confidence with the muppets playing in the defence in front of him.

Not a Premier League keeper. Will be fine for us in the Championship next year but that's his ceiling.

Disagree, he looks comfortable. He just lacks PL experience and that’s his only issue.

Definitely could improve with experience, but he's not really made any significant saves so far from memory. In fact conceded more than he'd have expected to from xG and made a mistake against Man City. Definitely our best option right now, and good with his feet, but he's only looking ok because of who he has replaced imo.

He is okay but underperforming from an Expected Goals on Target (xGOT), considered a better metric for Goalkeepers than xG. We can't afford to have another underperforming player.

Stolarczyk

Save percentage 52.2%
Goals conceded 11

Expected Goals on Target (xGOT) 9.19
Goals prevented -1.88

Compared to Mads who was overperforming.

Hermansen

Games 16

Save percentage 67.7%

Goals conceded 29

Expected Goals on Target (xGOT) 35.44

Goals prevented 4.44

Will be a premier league keeper and will be one of the best keepers in the championship next year.

We miss Mads, but Jakub has done nothing wrong.

What were they like compared to each other last season?

I think both are very good modern keepers.

To be honest I don't think he's great. Couldn't have done anything with the goals again at the weekend but he doesn't seem confident enough to me, doesn't talk enough, a couple times now he's hesitated and the centre backs have ended up having to ask him to come.

He's alright. No Mads, but he's a fine deputy. Kept us in games during his run in the team, which is all you can ask with a defence about as useful as the Maginot Line in front of him.

Think he should be the number 1 if we go down, because we'll 100% lose Hermansen in that scenario. Unless Rudkin really has it in for us, we should now have seen the last of Ward as his pisstake of a contract expires in June.

Promote another one from the youth, have Iversen as backup. Don't waste any money on another keeper, he'll be absolutely fine at Championship level and our squad has way, waaaay bigger issues that need addressing.

Do not think any keeper can be confident with dumb and dumber playing CB for us

He's atypical no 2 keeper. He's functional if not perfect. Might do well as a Championship no.1 and develop his game. His game would probably kick on if he has a centre-half he trust calling some shots at the back. Ie he knows when he come off his line and he knows when he claim aerially.

Might sound daft to say but possibly the most competent back-up we've had since Pearson's days. Hamer, Zieler, Ward all wank.

He made an excellent early save v Man City which near certainty would have gone in with Iversen or Ward who aren't agile enough.

I looked the other week, Ward is at -2.45 goals (or something) prevented PER 90 lol

With the exception of the Savinho goal against City I haven't felt he could've done any better with any of the goals. That's all you can realistically ask of him. He shouldn't be anywhere near the XI.

It was a save I would have expected a PL goalkeeper to make, the shot was right at him. Not questioning his position in the side, he's comfortably better than Ward/Iversen, I just haven't seen anything yet to convince me he's a PL keeper.
