Obligation for €17m if we are promoted

 

No other clauses mentioned anywhere like amount of appearances required etc.

As long as that is a sole obligation to buy and Sporting can't tout him around other clubs.

Look at his dressing room dance last week. Fella loves it here. Keep the manager and the bulk of the squad, why wouldn't he want to be here? Even if touted, it's his choice at the end of the day.

As much as I want us to sign him permanently, I can't see it happening in January as we are unlikely to spend money on a player that is already in our squad. If Maresca has indicated to the board that he might want one or two new signings this window, we won't be using the cash we have on Fatawu, especially given we have an obligation in the summer anyway

Exactly.. its a business.

 

We've got another 6 months of him playing for us where if he was unfortunate enough to pick up a major injury, he's no longer our concern and we merely return to sender.

We surely won't risk buying him early unnecessarily. I know that sounds horrible  and I'd love him here on a permanent, but it's the truth

 

Surely with the obligation to buy him if promoted it's just a case of signing the paperwork at the end of the season anyway, so shouldn't prove difficult even of sporting are involved.

His pressing created both goals. It says a lot that for all his skill and talent that it was his workrate that created the opportunities

The defensive side of his game is amazing as well. So many times he gets back and tracks runners and makes interceptions and tackles and wins important headers. Like others have said, if he could start scoring a few more goals, he's going to be a hell of a talent
