Away from home on a Friday night after an international break is a tough one

some players won’t have got back until today

and we probably travel down there later tomorrow

wouldn’t suRprise me if we saw a lot of the boys who’ve been away on the bench

Think that would have been the case anyway for Casadei and Fatawu. Can't imagine Doyle, Faes or Wilf and Kel being benched though.

I think it'll be

Hermandsen

Ricardo

Faes

Vestergaard

Doyle

Ndidi

Winks

KDH

Akgün

Iheanacho / Vardy

McAteer

They are young fit lads. A bit of travel is nothing at their age. No excuses. Everyone should be available and up for it.

Who was away during the international break?  I can only count Hermansen, Souttar, Ndidi, Nacho, Daka and Faes.

Fatawu, Doyle and Cassadei

Yeah. They're hardly on Ryanair economy flying at 7am are they. Takes me longer to get to Leicester than most of them coming back from international duty.

I really hope Fatuwa gets the nod over Akgun. I thought the former was the best player in the pitch after coming on in the last match, while the former was completely ineffective.

Bit silly so say this considering Akgun played about 50 minutes in his first game for us…… You can’t formulate an opinion of either until they’ve played a string of games…Akgun did some nice stuff, it just looked obvious that he hadn’t played with the group that much.

Akgun was unspectacular but fine. There were a few nice moves in the first half and some good back tracking. Yes, he didn't rip their defence new backsides but wingers aren't going to do this all the time. For all we know this is what he was asked to do on his debut. I agree Fatawu looked excellent, but Enzo is going to need to manage him. He was lucky not to get a red card at the end of the game and is clearly a young raw talent. I think we will see him used for impact initially whilst he beds in. Being away from training immediately after arriving doesn't help in the short term.

Agree At first glance Fatawu looks as though he's going to be a great talent and I'm hoping to see him play a lot more. I suspect though that Enzo will want to bring him on later in games as an impact player, until he's had chance to properly assess the new players.

Can’t see anything other than a loss sadly

lol! Based on what. Both teams are in transition and both would have had fragmented teams during the international break. Both are a way off where they want to be and both lost their previous games (albeit in very different circumstances).

I can see any result frankly and wouldn't be surprised however it turned out.

Big game this for Maresca. Both teams are in pretty much the same position after relegation and having to rebuild with a new manager so it will give a better indication of how much the message is getting through than the previous 5 games. Would obviously love a win but I think we need a performance more than anything to show the fans and more importantly the players that the tactics are the right ones going forward.

I don’t think we’ll ever win again at St Mary’s after the 9-0

Worth it though

Let's get our excuses now prior to a possible loss , down to the referee as usual 😉

Nah, he'll be just as shit for Southampton as he is for us. I just hope his major cockups are in our favour. Moss got a hard time from our fans but he's basically Pierluigi Collina compared to Bobby Madley.
