Bit baffled by anyone taking issue with James Justin. 

 

We don't play conventional full backs, obviously anything he does is going to have to be completely relearning a position. 

 

Either he replaces Doyle and he just isn't left footed or he does the Ricardo role and he's been compared to either Ricky himself, who is one of the most technically gifted footballers we've ever had, or Hamza who is actually a midfielder. 

 

JJs strengths are his pace, energy and directness getting down the wing and we don't so that with full backs anymore.

Like i said it mine my sound harsh but it just shows how well we are playing as a squad when you are having to pick out extremely small issues. His passing hasn't been great and yeah he is playing left sided but he has done this before so its no new playing on the left. 

 

I have more of an issue with people saying Mavididi - his stats are decent and tends to look a danger the majority of the time. But again i am sure people are just picking small issues rather than last year when you could pretty much pick half the squad!

Ndidi - He looks like a footballer again and he's playing a completely new role. Improvement in fitness and being a key part of the side.

Casadei - really expected him to come in and take that right hand side 8 position. He still could, but it's been a slow start

Koji Miyoshi - AM at birmingham, looked really direct and energetic. Tidy on the ball as well. Feel like he could fill one of those 8 roles really nicely - he only joined in the summer so unlikely mind haha

Winks has been fantastic, but if we're specifically talking "best signing" then it has to go to Hermansen - he's so foundational to how we play.

 

Him being so comfortable on the ball and pushing up/out, lets us play with 11 outfield players when in possession, making it easier to outnumber the opposition, beat the press and to play our intended back-to-front style. 

 

Never mind his great vertical passes into midfield or the long balls out to the wing.

Haha this post really made me laugh, it's mad how football has changed. You've not mentioned one skill that you'd conventionally want from a keeper  

 

Literally the only weakness I've seen in him as a goalkeeper is that he can be a little indecisive when a ball bounces in the area. There's been 2 or 3 occasions where instead of making a decision he's been stuck in 2 minds and let the ball bounce in his box. On all occasions the opposition haven't captialised. 

 

He looks so complete already and he's so relatively young for a keeper. He's got all the tools to play for an elite team in a few years.

You have to go with Wilf in all respects - particularly given the new and vastly different role that he as been asked to perform this season. Regarding Vestergaard, where he has tightened up his game I think it's not so much a case of improvement but coming into his own at the level we now find ourselves at. 

 

Most disappointing player 

It continues to be Daka for failing to make his mark. Really wanted him to settle into the team and be part of the rebuild. If Tom Cannon returns to training this year, I think Patson will be out in January. 

 

After an impressive season at this level with Coventry City, I was surprised that Callum Doyle failed to find his feet. You can see the promise and the potential. Wishing him a speedy recovery and still confident that he will have a part to play in our success this season. 

 

Also Danny Ward for continuing to be on our books.

Some good points but at times his positioning has been woeful. This is not because he's being played on the left because it was quite noticeable when he came back and played on the right last season also. Possibly lack of confidence through lack of game time?

You can say exactly the same about winks though. But we can win games without Hermansen… i’m not sure how we cope without winks.
