He is fit at the moment at least.

 

Hasn't played very much at all, but hasn't been out injured since September. 

 

Which presumably means he's been in full training for the past 4 months...which is positive.

 

It's looking likely to happen so I'm trying to clutch at some straws! lol

That sort of fee is par for the course for FFP. They paid £20m for him 4-5 years ago and with 6 months left they probably clear the decks without reporting a loss. 

 

We'd never get an Italian club to give us that - see Dennis Praet over the next month as a case example but its not unreasonable.

I had this problem with my Leicester subbuteo team when I was a kid..Wooletts legs were snapped on many occasions due to so many errors he made in defence!!   Bostick soon sorted him out though.

The biggest case of clutching at straws since Aunt Sally gave Wurzel Gummidge a hand job!

Don't think he's much different to Winks in that he didn't play much for for  Milan, been out on loan for a while came back and was not wanted. We buy the unwanted Winks and he's possibly been our best player. Also similar players. A low price gamble.

The price is key, but the wages are too. I shared something on another thread that really reveals the scandalous amount of wages we’ve paid for people like Smithies, Ward and Bertrand. This really hamstrung us in terms of sustainability and FFP. 
 

We’d want to avoid a situation where we’re paying a fortune for somebody who never plays. There is, however, always a bit of a gamble with signings and sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith. I’ve not seen enough of this guy to judge whether he’s worth it

How would this guy's arrival be achieved (No airplane gif's please...or alternatives) in terms of outgoings? Is Ward going enough? (Or just a cause for wild celebration)

I used to work with Woolett and he was always miserable over missing out on pay that they are on these days. That was a while ago though. He couldn’t get past that. He couldn’t get past other players as well come to think of it.

So far this has been the season for surprising. Fatawu looked like an extreme risk and 18m seemed absurd, Harry Winks was regarded as underwhelming and uninspired, Mavididi raised a lot of eyebrows and FoxesTalk jizzed itself to death over Cesare Casadei. Haha.

 

There's no doubting that Sensi has a fantastic amount of talent, he's a much better player than Praet has ever been. Yes, he's had a difficult history with injuries and, sure, he's not good enough for Inter Milan. But we are where we are.

 

I can't get my head around people acting like 2m is anything other than bargain basement. Even for a Championship club these days, it's not a significant amount of money, especially given we're looking almost certainly on course to be back in the top flight again.

 

He's an experienced pro with a lot of ability, on his day he's not far off Champions League quality. He won't be under pressure to play every minute here and he gives us a good option.

 

I don't really see a significant issue with this transfer if I'm honest. Some of the reactions seem over the top.
