It was an error, he scuffed it, it went nowhere near where it was supposed to go. 

 

If we cut "that stuff" out of our game, then Ricardo's goal doesn't get scored. 

 

Errors happen, and they've been few and far between to be fair, even if it does feel far more edgy far too often at times. But we can't jump on them when they do, it's our game and that's the way we play

He was obviously trying to switch it to his right to Faes with his left foot like he’s done 100’s of times this season.

It really is this simple and exactly why Enzo might appear quite too relaxed about mistakes like this.

 

You can spend many phases gambling with the the ball in other ways with the stats showing the reward being far less. Or you can make high profile mistakes like this once in a blue moon and control every game with a much higher reward.

Bit unfair. But I agree he is lightweight and I always worry when he’s in the team. But sometimes he surprises you.

You're probably right, it makes more sense than what I thought he tried to do. I thought he tried to catch it with the outside of his boot to Doyle on our left.

I think there’s what most fans hate , giving away a goal like that , two goals up way play such a stupid ball , punch it up the field and press hard . The manager can cry all he likes about fans wanting the ball to go forward quicker, I think most of us don’t want to see stupid plays like that .

Some amusing hyperbole about JM on the site but he’s definitely worth persevering with IMHO . He’s not being played in his best position but is a real tryer and got some important goals earlier in the season . Enzo likes him and will continue to pick him so we should probably cut him some slack
