I always wondered why all the hate before when he played so little for us yet he has always shown glimpses of brilliance; much better than some players who were consistently picked. Typical FT.

When Cooper picked him, Cooper was crucified. Now RVN does the same and he is a genius.

Early on in his time here he just didnt put in the effort to track runners or cover the defence. The criticism was warranted because we couldn't rely on him. Now he is getting the plaudits because he is putting the work in and fighting for the team.

He’s been decent recently but “played so little” is a stretch, he played in 26 Prem games in the relegation season and was largely crap & lazy

Glad to see he’s redeeming himself this year!

I just don't know what to make of him. He made a great run at the end to win a potential game winning free kick. The rest of the time nothing. He can't defend, doesn't create. Has no initial acceleration to help in any of the above. Not a starter for me and needs to be replaced.

It's not do much that Cooper picked Soumare it's more the dog shit style or tactic Cooper used.

This week under Cooper we get zero points as he goes into both games defending, trying not to lose, when we are shit at defending, that puts pressure on the midfield and defence.

Used correctly Soumare could be a useful player, just the majority of managers we have had haven't used him well.

Same can be said about most of our players in the dreadful 2022/23 season. Just shows how much a very good manager can do for a team.

He was not even playing for Maresca last season.

that was my point mate. If he had stayed with us he would have developed further imo.

Fair point. Though as Enzo didn’t fancy him, it was better for him to play first team football on loan elsewhere, which he did.

What a turnaround from him. When he wants to be he's like a bulldozer running at the opposition, just he when he won that free kick. When Ndidi went off, it's almost like he wanted to take control of the midfield and certainly made his presence known. Strong powerful player when he's on it.

I'm really starting to like him. His confidence must be sky high compared to the boos he got when he came on (which I have never agreed with)

Soumare woah soumare woah he used to play like shite, but now he plays alright

I was about to say is it time we bring the Kisnorbo chant back? lol

He's done well recently but still think he's one mistake away from everyone jumping back on him. And it will come.

Heart skips a beat everytime hermansen passes to him under pressure. If he takes a good first touch his passing his good, first time passes are a bit casual sometimes and can also be guilty of taking too long. However he's only player that can run through midfield with the ball.

How’s he managed to pick up 5 bookings already though given he hasn’t exactly been in the side (and playing regularly 90 minutes) for much of the season lol

I think the fact his first yellow was in a 2 minute cameo against Bournemouth is impressive.

Saw a different game to me. Though he put a real shift and and covered so much of the park.

He did his defensive shift and made a few clearances. Ran forward to support the attack.  Thought he was one of our best players.

Big unit and can be difficult to dispossess and he can pick a pass. Love it when he goes on one of his barging runs too. Nobody else in the squad is particularly similar. There is a but around how long this new Bouba remains at this level, but fingers crossed.

Really lol. I hadn’t looked into the detail but obviously knew he hadn’t been regularly playing.

I mean until Maresca when we were doing more of the Man City type tactical fouling, we were generally too nice so I don’t mind this, it just amused me. Like, Justin you could understand for example, as a defender who had pretty much played every minute.

At least things like this and Buonanotte missing against Brighton are only one game things. When missing the likes of Fatawu and Ricardo for a while or even the season, it’s minor really.
