I am using Everton as the template for our punishment, did Everton get deductions for cooperation?

  • The Commission accepted that Everton was entitled to credit for the following matters (a) the club had already been penalised in the FY22 proceedings for two of the three years at issue (b) the loss of sponsorship revenues from USM Services Limited and (c) Everton admitted the breach at the first opportunity

The Commission agreed that point (a) justifies a reduction of Everton’s penalty by two points and that (b) and (c) combined justified a further reduction of one point.

I thought so. Might be wrong. We won’t get any back.

It's cooperating with the commission not the league

I think we will get 10 because we breached for bigger amounts and longer than the others.

whatever the deduction, I just want it done soon so we know what we are up against.

Like many others have said, how can you get more than nine, when nine is the standard for going into administration?!

Max deduction is 12 though as far as I am aware.

How have we breached for longer when Everton have breached over two accounting periods?

Apologies, I thought it was 3. Everton were 2 periods too right?

Pretty sure we did breach for more money though. Happy to be wrong though, not claiming to be an expert.

i know we are up shit creek but it really could be worse

This is where us and Everton's situations couldn't be more different.

Everton are a financial basket case and have been for years. They've had unstable ownership while circling the drain for a decade.

We've not actually been in any financial trouble during this whole thing. We HAD stable ownership, were an ambitious club with the means and talent to achieve those ambitions and quite literally were starting to succeed.

It's just that the rules changed at the same time we were wrongly denied Champions League football twice.

To avoid another future charge, it's been reported that we have to sell a high value asset, before 30th June (end of current financial year).

I guess selling KDH for circa £30m would solve this issue? - Home grown academy product, so 'pure profit' on PSR rules.

I don't want to sell KDH.

Could we not get his circa £30m in another way?

Enzo Maresca - £8m

Enzo's backroom staff - £2m

Daniel Iversen - £3m

Luke Thomas - £1m

Hamza Choudhury - £6m

Ben Nelson - £5m

Kasey McAteer - £5m

There's your £30m 'pure profit! get it done Rudders! :D

It’s a Joke Man City & Chelsea are getting away with massive amounts of over spends yet Nothing has or maybe not will be done to punish them , spending £1bn on players spreading the cost over certain amount of years should also be looked into as they are defrauding the system because they can and know they can but the smaller clubs like Everton Florist now us are being punished for trying to compete in the EPL !

About time it came out that they are going to Punish Man City & Chelsea for their misdemeanours but can’t see it as they bring so much money for the EPL in over seas coverage that the cash cow will be damaged if demotion to a lower league is given as a punishment and trophies and league positions will have to be given to other clubs affected at the time it’s just wrong and they’ll keep getting away with it for years to come !

Maximum deduction is 9…… how many times does this have to be said? Administration incurs the biggest punishments which is 9 points. We can only get a maximum of 9 points…and we aren’t going into administration…... and if we cooperate with the deciding panel, they can reduce the sentence, as they have done with both Everton and Forest….. The likely outcome will be 8 reduced to 6.

Ben Nelson could be worth far more than that in 2 seasons. Not sure anyone pays 5mil for Kasey.

Just realised Thomas is out of contract as well, so £0 for him!

Think your incomings are very optimistic.

KDH -  20m

Iversen - 1.5m

Thomas - (isn't he out of contract this summer? )

Hamza - 3m

Nelson - keep. We can use him and he's going to be worth a lot more in the future but certainly not 5m now.

Mcateer - 2m

= 26.5

Jeff Stelling this morning on TalkSport said we're expecting a points deduction of somewhere between 6 and 15 points. Where do they keep pulling these numbers from?

Are people stupid it like ground hog day in here.

The PL has already had to back down on the Everton 10-point punishment, the appeal panel stated it was inappropriate due to other benchmarks set in the PL rule and EPL rules.

Insolvency in the PL is 9 points; they will never get more than 8 to stick.
