When I was a kid he was really one of the top movie stars. So many great movies.

RIP Robert Redford.

One of the last 1960 greats.  Three Days of The Condor is a truly memorable thriller.

As others have said Robert Redford a Hollywood Great.  Shout out for one of his later films All is lost. He played a lone yachtsman basically a one man picture

Is that the film where he barely spoke a word but his acting told the story?

And an Olympian too it seems .

Indeed. From Sky.......

"Before moving into politics, Lord Campbell was an athlete, famously breaking Olympic gold medallist Wyndham Halswelle's 53-year-old Scottish 300 yards record in 1961 before competing at the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo. He also held the British 100m record from 1967 to 1974, beating aspiring athlete OJ Simpson with a 10.2-second race ".

Seemed a decent, moral sort - especially for a politician.

Jane Goodall, aged 91.

A legend of conservation, and one of those people where it's a certainty that their deeds in life made the Earth a better place.

Absolute legend. Deserves her peace at well in to her nineties but an absolute hero.

The world is worse without her in it.

At least Jim Cronin will have some company wherever they've gone.

A huge, huge loss to our species and the natural world.

It absolutely is; I dread the day we lose Sir David Attenborough. We need so, so many more people like them, Cronin and Irwin in the public eye.

Sad to see she's kicked the bouquet.

My wife had never seen the show before and we actually started watching it a few weeks ago because she saw some clips of it on Facebook. Surprised she was still alive up until now to be fair
