Very good  open game at Sunderland and a dramatic ending!

Bad error by the Leeds keeper - is a bit error prone.

Classic Championship.

Leeds would wipe the floor with us, a joke they bottled it last season.

Job done. Thank me later.

Like a hapless youngster against a Muralitharan off break.

That bad of an error there surely has to have been something up with the bounce.

There doesn’t seem to be. Maybe the tv angle doesn’t pick it up, but it looks very routine, even possibly with a bit of back spin slowing it down. Very odd.

Almost as embarrassing and odd was the continual stream of home fans leaving the stadium during the last 15/20 minutes, with Sunderland only needing a point to go top of the table. I hope the leavers are upset that they missed a moment football fans should savour, but probably they won’t be, as at least they’re home a bit earlier to watch the highlights.

There are those crying "match fixing!", I think that's pretty ludicrous but it does speak to the scale of the mistake. How in this world can anyone - much less a professional goalkeeper - miss that one? What possible reason could there be?

I reckon he's gone to try and scoop it low and just fall on it to kill time. He's probably got too comfortable taken his eyes off of it and misjudged where it was going. Funny how every error/incident in the game has people calling for match-fixing, we live in times where people are so set on there being something deeper going on in so many walks of life it's a bit sad.

It is sad and again, pretty silly in this case. But a testament to how unbelievably hideous a blunder it was.

Very true. Everything now is a conspiracy.

Although this goalkeeper howler is up there with the best (or worst) of them.

It kicked a bit as it bounced from the spin on the ball, but it was going that slow it shouldn’t have beat him.

A proper keeper smothers it on the bounce, especially with the Sunderland player closing down any rebound.

Utterly hilarious regardless!

Also, going back to the ‘leaving early’ furore. People were streaming out of the Stadium of Light from 85 minutes. The ground was half empty for that extraordinary finale. This is not a phenomenon unique to LCFC

Can't be match fixing because of the timing. Meslier had other "chances" in the 2nd half if he was involved in match fixing. It was just lack of focus and concentration combined with his awful GK skills. He's simply not a good GK.   Some fans defend him because he makes some nice reflex saves from time to time but the truth is everyone is capable to do these spectacular saves even in Sunday league. His positioning, box dominance, ball handling are awful.
