Eustace to Derby is very odd!

He’s absolutely flying with Blackburn, every chance they reach play offs.

Only guess is Venkys are awful to work for and Eustace wants to live closer to home?

He wants out apparently.

I'm gonna guess at that level of wage -  18 months on 350k a year judging by his buyout clause value - jumping to, say, 450k a year for three years is very attractive

These guys aren't on player wages.

He's been over performing with them. Avoiding relegation was the brief when he came in. Probably knows they haven't got much investment.

Derby have no money though.

My guess is keep them up, three impressive jobs in a row and **** off to a relegated side/rich champ side at the first opportunity.

In contrast as well, Derby don’t have tons of money but their owner clearly has the right intentions. He gave Warne plenty of time and has a reputable business behind him too. For that it’s a rare job in football currently

Also, very salty.

I'm not surprised. There can't be much between the clubs in terms of stature. Certainly none in terms.of money. And playing squad wise, Blackburn are a good two seasons ahead of Derby.

I think it's a move Eustace might well regret professionally. If Derby survive this season, they haven't the finances to keep dodging the league one trapdoor

Reading between the lines tho, it might purely be down to family reasons rather than career progression

Regardless of current position in table,  I'd say derby are the bigger club. Plus factor in the chicken shop owners of Blackburn..

In terms of fanbase, you're right, but hiw else? Blackburn have won more trophies including two of those being within the last 30 years and have been in the top flight more recently.

Yes the last issue is why he wants out .

Think, because people associate Blackburn with winning the top flight so much in 94/95, they forget Blackburn also won the league cup in 2002.

Historically Blackburn have won a lot and are a founder member too (as are Derby of course).

Have to remember Blackburn are still owned by the Venky’s

Looking on their forum the last three of their managers have now left because the owners have not backed them or broken promises. Eustance, Thomasson, Mowbray.

The team that comes 3rd will.

Leeds were excellent but we made it easy for them .

If Eustace goes to Derby I'm sure he will keep them up so at least we've got them to play..

Not just targeting this at Blackburn, but any football club that gets salty about manager's making choices about their own career moves can firmly get in the hypocrisy corner and sit very very quietly.

An industry which dispatches managers at a moments notice, whether a shiny new one comes around the corner, you go on a bad run or generally just feel like it. You get the loyalty you deserve. Fvck any bitter boardrooms who think any football manager owes them anything.
