I might have missed this explained, but where the heck is the microphone for the snico? In cricket it’s in the stumps and looking for a sharp sound of leather on willow. Surely wherever it is with VAR the crowd’s going to be louder than a slight brush of a hand on a ball.

You're absolutely right, mate. Good shout

Yep. It is to try and make the keeper move before the kick. If keeper then saves it the penalty would be taken again. Therefore surely the original penalty is illegal

Must be in the ball.

New balls that they're using have microchips in them.

Whether you think the decisions are technically correct or not it just isn’t right to see matches decided by marginal things so open to interpretation. And by the way, the thickness of the offside line is a variable.

If the word ‘deliberate’, is written in the rules (and I’m led to believe it still is), then there is no way to interpret that. It’s a word with a definition, it’s either deliberate or it isn’t.

It's a chip inside of the ball which measures vibrations from any contact with an external force.

International football, the only genuine merit based competition left in the sport, being ruined by fecking VAR.

I really do wonder why I keep watching football at times. Club football is in an awful state at the moment, and international football turgid (for England) and being ruined by stupid governance.
