Really dislike this player. He's not quite as bad as Ryan Bertrand was but hes been a stand out turd amongst the rotten pile of manure of the last few years. You have to question how a player with so few physical qualities and little technical ability has had the career he has. Very bizarre.

He was awful in the pre-season friendly @ Lens in the summer that he joined and has shown nothing since.

BTW, his shot from 9 yards yesterday has just landed in the fountain in Town Hall Square.

I'm totally bizarred by it too.

Looks like an under 16 year old on the pitch and with so little power and real technical ability I really don't know how he was ever a professional footballer never mind Premier League and playing for Jamaican

I've literally seen a handful of good touches and passes and the very odd shot in the 3 years he's been here

Personally think he's been worse than Bertrand as he's played more and been a real big part in our downfall. Symbolises exactly what's gone wrong with us out their on the pitch

Yes, that Lens game he was a total embarrassment - he went to kick the ball and fell over at one point for no real good reason other than he's shite

Spot on.

I think Reid has been one of the technically weakest players in such a long time.

He’s weak, slow and often does “bounce passes” as he doesn’t even trust his first touch.

Right wing back sub at very best - never want to see him in front 2 every again - actually wasn’t horrendous at wing back against absolute poop

That should be behind JJ, Aluko though.

When you include Alves, that makes him 4th choice yet he always makes the 18 man match day squad 🤮

Just crazy how he was purchased to keep us in the prem😂

Some of these players have no basement to how bad they are.

Makes you wonder if they turned out for a Sunday League team whether they'd actually stand out as being any good

If BDCFR turned up for your team you'd have him on the bench if you'd already got your 11

Was Esteban Cambiasso the last “safe hands/experienced” player that really offered something for us to take us up a level??

ALL the rest represented by BDCR, Ayew etc have been absolute doggo…

Look at Burns, Cullen, Chaplin, as yet all a total waste of time money and length of contract.

Bobby is up there though…….

Jonny Evans maybe until his injury issues?

BDR also features prominently in all our marketing materials - especially when it comes to kits. Someone somewhere really, really likes him.

He had one good season in the championship for Bristol C. and then somehow became a part of things at Fulham (where, let's be honest, the bar is very low). And it's not like he lit things up at Craven Cottage. At clubs like that, you come off the bench and score twice to win a game against a big club and you're a club legend.

I think his biggest asset is his name. You hear it and you remember it.

Remember he's shit.

I think he's up there as one of our worst signings of all time and that takes some doing

Fuchs and Evans, arguably (although I cant stand him) Winks in the context of the first season he was here

Don't be fooled by the Decordova, this signing is muck made worse by the contract we'll be dangling.

I’d rather pay him more/ramp up the SO fee than give him 3 years but I’m just negative and should trust our successful hierarchy/recruitment/ability to shift players.

The fact that he's still here illustrates something I said at the time to the "Bet you wish we'd kept Cooper now" lot when we were suffering under van Nistelrooy.

Cooper's transfer window crippled the club for at least 3 years.

The amount of managers we have who have benefitted just by the next manager being absolutely shit must be a record

I don't think it was wishing we'd kept him, mostly just pointing out that we probably wouldn't be any worse off if we had.

Complete dog muck manager though, although personally still think van Nistelrooy was worse.

They're not stupid obviously but a deal can be struck, there's some give and take. I'd rather limit our liability and pay a slight premium for it (and give an optional finally year extension) than be tied down. Quick players tend to have starker declines.

An Athletic article which shows take on data for wingers declining pretty rapidly after 30 https://archive.is/QgplP

I like him but he's 31.5 now,

End of 24/25  - 32.5

End of 25/26 - 33.5

End of 26/27 - 34.5

If by 25/26 he's just a bit part player than we'd rather not play we have another Bertrand-esque situation.

If it was a straight up binary choice of 3 years or no deal I think I'd opt for the latter.

The Vestergaard deal was silly at the time, it looks even sillier now the first manager to actually play him left. We're bad negotiators.

Players tail off year on year, it’s not just about pace.

Morgan and Wasilewki didn't play into their late 30s. Both Morgan and Wasyl last had significant minutes the season they turned 35. They both noticeably got worse too, Wasyl especially was a bit of a liability the older he got.

The aforementioned lot were world class, they reason they could play on because their decline started from such a lofty position.

Players get worse with age, it’s not just about fitness or pace. Even the speed of

thought, agility, durability whatever all slowly tapers off.

Especially with Vestergaard’s frame.

Said elsewhere but my suspicion is he is going to be our new Perez i.e. sometimes irritating as **** and will divide opinion but works hard and occasionally pulls off something tidy, just for free rather than £30m/£16m/whatever it was we decided we paid. Something about the way he moves around the pitch and a couple of the little flicks he did, like in the build up to the chance Vardy had saved, gave me very vivid flashbacks to our sweet Spanish prince.

It’s unbecoming to do this but some people can see how these signings pan out!

I guess I was right in the sense that he does divide opinion between people who think he's really shit and people who think he's really, really shit.

In my recollection I'd actually been quite a bit more positive than that but I'm now realising to my displeasure that means that was probably about Ayew :(

Given my Perez agenda I was in agreement with you, in case it wasn’t clear
