Not sure if it was the club, or someone he had hired privately, but yeah, extra training down at Loughborough Uni.

If that's true that's not a great advert because if anything his finishing got worse the longer he played for us.

If he’s getting credit for being in a good position, he certainly deserves more criticism for not even hitting the target on so many chances. 
 

He’s had his chance and missed every one of them. His ability keeps dropping lower than the league we are in.

I would imagine its something he had arranged himself else surely it would just be done at Seagrave.

I don't disagree, and i groan every time I see him on the team sheet, but you can't deny he's getting himself in great positions.

 

Bristric was the only alternative and i am not sure he's even taken a shot yet. Hopefully the lad from Bristol City knows where the net is.

Very early days, but Bristric has got a lot of learning to do. At least he can be eased in a bit now we’ve got the guy from Bristol City.

I'd rather have a striker that was a poor finisher but created a lot of chances, than a great finisher who created nothing.

 

In a perfect world you'd have both, but we're in League One and aren't exactly flush with money.

I think he’s good egg, I’ve never heard anything negative about him? His general play isn’t dreadful, he works hard, gets stuck in, and despite some of the seniors dreadful performances from lack of effort, you can’t level that at Bob. Ultimately, I think he will end up being fairly important even if it’s coming off the bench. 
 

His finishing at the moment is all over the place, he just needs one to come off his arse and he may settle down a bit.

It’s not like he’s hit the post or forced saves with these misses, they’ve all been comfortably wide or over the bar. Looks a world away from the decent player at Fulham - which is unsurprising as wingers decline faster. Terrible and avoidable signing.

I'd argue that Ayew got himself into scoring positions but that didn't make him a striker. 

 

I'd also argue that Vardy, Howard, Fryatt, and Nugent scored from positions that they weren't expected to which made them strikers. 

 

Maybe he would be great in his natural position. That doesn't seem the Martin way though.

On data to date I don’t want any of these 3 anywhere near the team. All 3 are poor in possession, don’t work hard enough off the ball, Reid wastes more energy waving his arms at other players.

Hopefully  as the season  progresses the strongest team will come through  regardless  of wages this time .Maybe some of the  new signings won't last a season ,as I expect all thought they'd be starters.So be it .

Burns a hero at Ipswich but he's been terrible for us so far and that performance at MK Dons was bordering farcical

Seems to be a well liked and positive character in the group at least. He’s fine as a squad player. He looks genuinely thrilled for the younger lads when they score/do well and if you watch some of them look to him during celebrations the other night. 
 

At least he appears to want to be here, and for that I’m willing to cut him a bit of slack even if he is a shadow of the player he once was.

Some of you might not want to hear this but when he gets a bit of confidence he's going to score bags of goals in this league, missed multiple sitters in pretty much all of our games so far

I think there is pressure on him now that wasn't there last season. He's been asked to play at the 9 at times, and also has to double up as an attacking mid in the same game. I think he does perform a leadership role as well and when he misses chances like that on Tuesday (from Sammy's pass) it probably just mounts the pressure on him a bit.

 

He should have handled these chances better, but i dont doubt he puts a shift in and i think he is good with the academy graduates. He looks fit for his age too.

 

I hate comparisons to Ayew. Bobby is a very different character.

What is his natural position though? Came through as a central midfielder at Bristol City, they moved him to 10 then to 9. Then he’s played wide and at wing-back at Fulham. 
 

I think it’s just a case of his legs are gone and he’ll be ineffective pretty much anywhere.
