How is Skipp style wise compared to Winks?

To be honest, I’m already looking past this season to the Championship next season. I feel it is realistic to do so.

So I wonder whether they would play together or whether they are too similar. Winks, Skipp, Braybrooke, Golding seems a good start. That’s not taking into account that Choudhury and/or Ndidi would still probably be around. Not bad options potentially….

Skipp and Winks will be the top midfield partnership in the Championship. Hopefully Corberan gets the best out of them.

Feel like we might be bypassing the middle of the field when it comes to creativity and intend on knocking it out to the wingers. Could explain why we have been linked to old fashioned center forwards too..

That currently sounds better than giving it to the midfielders we do have and hoping they create anything to be honest

Is it compulsory to make snide and/or sarkey comments about the Club on here?  Really gets a bit wearing.  Support the Club or fvck off.

The club is the fans. The actions of a company and its entourage who own us, aren’t the club. Most of the ‘moaning’ is done with the best intentions.

Problem with having no creativity through the middle is opposition will just double up on the wingers. We played with 2 CDM's under Puel and the gap between defense and attack was to large and caused our forward line to be isolated, that is until we aquired Tielemens to bridge that gap, and unless buonanette can be that player

Assuming we will have

  • At least 1 right/left wide defender who can contribute to the attacking phase (2 seems unlikely from pre-season)
  • 2 wingers who also will
  • 1 midfielder of the 3 who will be contributing
  • potentially a forward who can drop deeper to also contribute

This obviously does not mean all these are creatively contributors, but the wingers should be, plus the most creative midfielder (Winks assumed) and the forward being able to contribute creatively.

Thinking we might be reduced to this (reportedly) after losing out Soule and Hzolek (But I guess we did bring Buonanotte in)

We're not targeting the right markets. We're still a huge move for players from Scandinavia, South America, Japan etc. You'd not pay £25m for the privilege either.

Yeah, Christiansen, Faes absolute bargains…..

I expect to see Skipp and NDiddi doing the defensive part and Winks move into the centre to provide the attacking options.

I doubt weve signed an exciting CAM from Brighton to have him on the bench behind Harry Winks

Doubt Buonanotte will be first choice

Why? I wouldnt of thought Brighton would loan him to us to sit on our bench when he played almost 30 times for them last season. Think people will be surprised with his ability, hes 19 and already been capped twice by Argentina

He's got similar passing ability to Winks but I'd say he covers a lot more of the pitch. He's a grafter and he loves a tackle.

Sounds like they would compliment each other. Alves is a bit unknown in terms of how he will break through and whether he would play centrally as more of a 10 or if he’d be wide but you could have

Winks - Skipp

Fatawu - Alves - Mavididi

Cannon? Or other striker

But that looks very promising. Depends if the likes of Winks, Fatawu and Mavididi would all be retainable.

He won’t be playing all three if he also wants a number 10 tho
