To be honest, I’m already looking past this season to the Championship next season. I feel it is realistic to do so. So I wonder whether they would play together or whether they are too similar. Winks, Skipp, Braybrooke, Golding seems a good start. That’s not taking into account that Choudhury and/or Ndidi would still probably be around. Not bad options potentially…. Skipp and Winks will be the top midfield partnership in the Championship. Hopefully Corberan gets the best out of them. 4

MPH Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 Feel like we might be bypassing the middle of the field when it comes to creativity and intend on knocking it out to the wingers. Could explain why we have been linked to old fashioned center forwards too.. 1

kingfox Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 Posted this before, this is from his time at Norwich https://breakingthelines.com/player-analysis/player-analysis-oliver-skipp/ I see him as another Winks but with a bit more defensive bite.

Clever Fox Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 I expect to see Skipp and NDiddi doing the defensive part and Winks move into the centre to provide the attacking options. 2

Could explain why we have been linked to old fashioned center forwards too.. Problem with having no creativity through the middle is opposition will just double up on the wingers. We played with 2 CDM's under Puel and the gap between defense and attack was to large and caused our forward line to be isolated, that is until we aquired Tielemens to bridge that gap, and unless buonanette can be that player

Dahnsouff Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 (edited) Assuming we will have At least 1 right/left wide defender who can contribute to the attacking phase (2 seems unlikely from pre-season) 2 wingers who also will 1 midfielder of the 3 who will be contributing potentially a forward who can drop deeper to also contribute This obviously does not mean all these are creatively contributors, but the wingers should be, plus the most creative midfielder (Winks assumed) and the forward being able to contribute creatively. Thinking we might be reduced to this (reportedly) after losing out Soule and Hzolek (But I guess we did bring Buonanotte in) Edited 18 August 2024 by Dahnsouff

egg_fried_rice Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 Levy must have to take a moment to stop giggling when he sees Rudkin’s name pop up on the mobile. Leagues apart.

JonnyBoy Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 Also, we have been crying out for a player who can show metal and be a real heart on the sleeve type. Well now we have that 1

I wouldnt of thought Brighton would loan him to us to sit on our bench when he played almost 30 times for them last season. Think people will be surprised with his ability, hes 19 and already been capped twice by Argentina Edited 18 August 2024 by South Shire Fox 1

He's a grafter and he loves a tackle. Sounds like they would compliment each other. Alves is a bit unknown in terms of how he will break through and whether he would play centrally as more of a 10 or if he’d be wide but you could have Winks - Skipp Fatawu - Alves - Mavididi Cannon? Or other striker But that looks very promising. Depends if the likes of Winks, Fatawu and Mavididi would all be retainable.
