Jobyfox Posted 15 November 2024 Posted 15 November 2024 This thread has now reached 296 pages of mostly pointless conjecture (I include my own contributions in that assessment). He was the wrong appointment but, having made it, he isn’t going to be sacked without a compelling case to do so. That’s in the bottom 3 after a significant number of games. Given our next run of fixtures our destiny under Cooper will become clearer as we approach the Christmas schedule. I wouldn’t expect any change before the January window. That’s despite the fact that this thread will probably have doubled in size by then with more pointless comments - including a few from myself no doubt.
Popular Post Bryn Posted 15 November 2024 Popular Post Posted 15 November 2024 I’d take Carsley. Our last manager who was involved in the U21s turned out alright. 1 5

sylofox Posted 15 November 2024 Posted 15 November 2024 What's the betting Tops Mrs has already done the Xmas cards so he's safe till then.
gurru991 Posted 15 November 2024 Posted 15 November 2024 Our fixtures between now & the NewYear are very nasty Chelsea. H Brentford A W Ham H Brighton. H Newcastle A Wolves H Liverpool A Man C. H I really don't see much in the way of points with the possibility of wins against Wham & Wolves & I expect us to be bottom three by New Years day. The club will have no choice but to fire Cooper at that point but who will be available as a replacement is anyones guess. Personally I would love to see David Moyes take over.

The longer we take to pull the trigger, the more expensive it’s going to be to get anyone in cos we’ll be in a much worse position suspect there won’t be many takers we’d approve of if we’re ensconced in the bottom three. 3
TeamRocket Posted 15 November 2024 Posted 15 November 2024 Honestly can't see where we will get a next win from with him still here. 1

Get Moyes in now would give us a chance in those games to sure up the defence and such, it would probably work out.

West Ham let over 70 goals in last season in the league. Its one of the reasons why they moved Moyes on. 1 1

Should've been renamed West Sham, after them moving into that Olympic Stadium.. Edited 15 November 2024 by Wymsey

I have very little confidence in Rudkin or Top making good decisions but bottom three in January will put huge financial pressure on them to make a decision. They left it to the last minute with Brendan & the lack of a back up plan was pretty obvious. I'm hoping that the last relegation experience will influence their thought process this time around. I'm certain that changing managers is the right call but I'm not certain the right call will be made !!!
Wymsey Posted 15 November 2024 Posted 15 November 2024 Did Vichai promote Rudkin for his current position?

For everyone laughing at this - it is referring to Pearson, not the Tater Peeler. So I guess with England u21 alumni there's a 50/50 chance of building the greatest team you'll ever have or destroying the club for a decade

Yes exactly this. Also how to sure up a defence with Justin, VK, faes, okoli, vesty. Stopping goals with that mob is like telling the tide not to come in.

AjcW Posted 15 November 2024 Posted 15 November 2024 Random musings but i've said a few times in this thread i'm worried that we no longer have a "Club coach" who isn't attached to the manager. I've realised Ben Dawson who joined from Newcastle is that person, he has no ties or links to Cooper in the past. He's also been a technical director at Newcastle in the past, so would have the experience of bringing in staff and transitioning in new coaching/management teams. Felt it was important to bring up! 1
