@The Bear, your new manager is either going to succeed very well or fail badly.. He sounds a character..

"You must be joking with me, mate," he told a reporter in Brazil. "You've got to be kidding me with that question. At this stage of my life, of my career, do you think I'm afraid of losing my job? Do you have any idea how much money I've got in the bank, mate?''

"Pereira can be hot-headed and says whatever he thinks he has to say to whoever needs to hear it. It is part of his personality he credits to his humble roots, but also a mechanism of self-defence."

"He has also said he does not know how to deal with "spoiled players" - "rich kids that have never suffered, and don't know how to suffer in life".

Dyche is a very competent manager. Not fancy, not flowing football but the definition of competent. He will keep them in the league. If they sack him and appoint someone new, it could go either way.

Everton are the football equivalent of a cockroach in a nuclear holocaust.

They could appoint Steve Cooper as manager, play Danny Ward in goal with Amartey as their ball playing centre-back with Junior Lewis running the midfield and Ade Akinbiyi up front and still stay up.

It does seem like you could get dyno-rod in with an industrial plunger and they still wouldn’t flush!

They could do all of the above and breach PSR to get a 40 point deduction. Still surviving.

Dyche gets Everton keeping clean sheets.  Something a lot of us down the bottom can't seem to do.  Does a new man keep that up whilst also getting them firing at the other end, or would a new man just undo the defensive stability (as it is) in search of goals?  I reckon the latter with the players at their disposal.

The only choice is to air drop Rodgers and wait for the slow burn

Out of contract in the summer anyway so might look elsewhere.

Dyche is interesting because his teams will be shit for weeks playing some horrible football but then he'll occasionally win a game and everyone thinks he's a good manager again. Luckily for him he does it enough to survive.

If he does it enough doesn't that make him a good manager?

It might be turgid stuff, but so's the squad.

Annoyingly correct.
