Brighton have had a really really poor season considering the vast strength in depth they have.

Yep, they've been run really well but I think to an extent it does show a couple of things:

1. A fancy manager from abroad isn't a guarantee of success

2. A lofty position for ANY of the non tradition big 6 is precarious

There's something in that, but it's difficult to argue that it didn't work under Rodgers for the first two years. The failure to adequately replace scouts was a huge blow.

Brighton have lost staff though and the recruitment model hasn't changed, Tony Bloom drives it all. The issue we actually had was not selling anymore when we signed Daka and Soumare, which then ****ed us the following summer when we couldn't spend.

it did work for the first couple of years under Rodgers but note how the further we've got from Puel, the more incoherent we've got, as with when we got rid of Pearson. It worked briefly but then started to decline, because it's taken time to undo what they put in place.

Horrible start to the PL weekend. Was hoping that F*rest were finished after last weekend.

They were always going to beat Brighton at home. Anyone thinking otherwise was kidding themselves.

Their next four after this are honking.

ok, so you think then that after the title win we should have just decided that 38 points was fine, and we shouldn't try to evolve our style to attempt to beat teams that feared us?

No I actually think if Kante had stayed we’d have won it again. The system was fine we just needed to carry on, I don’t think the big clubs ever feared us or sat back.

and the other 13 teams? all well and good that the big six don't change for anyone, but that's a maximum of 36 possible points and you're not getting all 36 (we took 16 in 15/16)

Fact they are below both Bournemouth and Forest is enough to say serious questions should be asked of Hurzeler.

A team involved in back to back 5-0 games can’t have happened to often in the premier league let alone a defeat and win by that margin if it stays this way

It reminds me of one of those wenger games where he used to just ignore how the opposition play and set up accordingly and just say we will be too good.

Brighton got exactly what they deserved today, couldn't of played more into forest hands.
