Don’t think it’s a coincidence that this bloke’s only good season was during Covid when there were no fans in. Can imagine he looks decent in training and doesn’t seem a bad guy but when faced with any kind of battle he just hides.

Recruitment across multiple windows has hampered us. Since Puel and then Macia left our record had been awful. In fact even before that it's just Puel has a couple of wins like Ricardo. 

I think we've made 9 good signings in 10 years and everything else has been horrific.

Skipp is one of the most expensive transfers in the history of the club and has been complicit in our drop to the club's lowest ever league position, he absolutely would make a list of 100 worst signings, doesn't matter if you've been a fan since 2000 or 1900

Yesterday was our second ever defeat at home in the third division. It was the single lowest point in the club's 140 year history so this "we had it worse once" narrative doesn't work.

 

Skipp was sent off 25 minutes into a match against Burton Albion, a team we have never lost to in the league before, and we improved after he was sent off.

 

None of those players you mentioned have ever reached that low.

 

It was the kind of moment that those of us in our 20s, 30s and 40s will be bringing up to our grandkids whenever they complain about a player.

 

"You think you had it bad, we had to watch Oliver Skipp get sent off 20 minutes in against Burton Albion and he was so bad that we improved afterwards".

Skipp has ruined his own career, his effort is okay but his talent is zero and we need to move him on quickly. Never have I seen a midfielder who so hopeless.

Just watch Skipp for the first goal. He is just drifting aimlessly while an overload develops behind him. He is a nothing footballer: his passing is ok, his tackling is late and clumsy, his speed is slow, he offers no discernable attacking threat and he is dozy as fuch. A CDM needs elite awareness and anticipation and he has neither. A terrible, terrible, piece of business.

Roger Davies was a club record signing at the time.   Either 300 or 600K I can't recall which but a lot of money for us back in 1977.

This is literally the lowest position we have ever been and he was a car crash… not sure it’s over the top

On the basis of his two league appearances so far this season he certainly would. First game he was a total liability, we'd have been better off with ten men, and yesterday was so far beyond a joke it went round the other side and became funny again.

Junior Lewis was bloody awful, but he cost the grand total of £50k. Skipp could end up costing £25m.... making him easily a contender for worst signing we've ever made. Worst player and worst signing are two different things, but I'm not sure Skipp is noticeably better than Lewis. They're both ****ing dreadful

Your right some of them were a bit crap ,but they didn't cost a fortune  and at least  they put effort and tried.What we need now are afew Andy freely or gary coatworth types ,limited skill set but got stuck in and took no shit .

Yet still some suggest we were mad to sack him,  we could and should have signed players like Hayden Hackney, Tom Fellows, Zian Flemming  it should have been the cream of the young upcoming talent from the championship, even Callum Doyle would have been money better spent than Okoli, and each and everyone would have had more impact and sell on ceiling than the above.

The money he cost and the little impact he’s made, 100% he’s in the top 100 worst signings. My first game 1979 so I’ve seen a few. If he’d cost 2 million then you maybe could have a case.

Looks like he's playing with the weight of the world on his shoulders. For that reason, and that reason alone, I do feel for him. But if he's not chronically depressed then I can't really defend him. I imagine playing here does that to most men eventually anyway.
