Just with Daka on the pitch against Swansea meant the defence could not step up and this allowed the number 10's the space they needed. On that day it was Reid and James creating the chances.

Today Ayew did well to create the goal (although Ramsey had a lot to do), but in my opinion have the space in front of the centre backs where the 10's have space creates more goals like James side footing his goal in the other week and as Ayew too often refuses to release the ball the chance has gone.

 

Daka is no Vardy and I want to see him replaced, I don't overly mind if Ayew is the number 9 I just want him to keep their defence pushed back - I repeat it is not the performance Daka puts in, but the tactic he is asked to play when selected I prefer

Tactically it only works having Daka as a 9 to stretch the game if the opposition have a higher line/more open play. Unfortunately other than running (which he’s been outran multiple amount of times) he’s offered us nothing. He’s a CB’s dream to play against, he can’t look after the ball and gets out muscled. Maybe I’m being a bit more old fashioned but atleast give the CB’s a problem with some physicality up there if anything

 

We have speed and skill out wide, that seems to be where we want to focus out attacks. If we want to be stretching the game that is where we need to be focusing hitting the flanks for them to run in behind if Daka’s all round play isn’t there and we don’t have a CF. 
 

Ayew can involve other players and be a target to hit which is atleast an outlet for us. Frustrating, yes and certainly not the answer but definitely the best option we currently have. 
 

Without going back and checking, I’m sure we’ve struggled for goals more with Daka in the side and he’s offered us nothing in return with goals himself directly which is a massively problem if you want to be a first choice CF

 

Were basically debating who is the least shit out the 2 🤣 but I just feel Ayew atleast gives us something to play off, finding an alternative option for stretching the game is MC’s problem to find a solution too

I need to see a compilation of his corner kicks this season. For my own sanity. If someone has the spare time and sadistic character to do it, I'd honestly appreciate it.

 

I am fairly certain he's taken at least 20 and pretty much every one has either hit the first man, sailed harmlessly long, or gone out of play. 

 

Actually delivering effective corners is a whole different ball game. This guy can't even put it in the mixer.

 

How on earth is he still allowed to persist?

I cannot get my head around that he is our number 9 and our fans actually have a song for him. Whole team pressing them in SK1 corner apart from him who stood there doing nothing then didn't move when we won the ball off them. 

 

Then in the final minute he cannot be bothered to close down a man 5 yards from him in the possession leading up to their goal.

He used to be a decent player to be honest, but his legs have completely gone. League 1 is probably his level now.

Absolute shite, can occasionally hold it up well but ruins any good work he does in that regard by holding on to it too long or falling over. His complete lack of effort to press towards the end of the game was hilarious, and there was another point where Daka was flicking it on for him to run on to and he just stood still with his arms out.

He slows every attack down if he’s involved in it. 
I would try Mavidi off Daka with Monga and Fatuwo wide. I know it doesn’t sound great but at least there is pace with those players.

In these grim times, possibly the most soul destroying is seeing the rare opportunities for a swift, positive break only to witness Ayew amble on to the ball, slow everything down and drifting back into middle of the pitch interminable passing.
