Popular Post South Shire Fox Posted 27 September 2025 Popular Post Posted 27 September 2025 (edited) Hes a player you bring on when holding onto a lead to draw pressure off by winning free kicks. Totally bizarre that hes using him regularly as a starting striker. Its pretty obvious you are going to struggle with a goal threat if your striker spends most the game in midfield instead of playing on the shoulder. Daka is crap but id rather see him upfront with a 10 behind then Ayew. Atleast Daka will stretch a defence Edited 27 September 2025 by South Shire Fox 8

He doesn’t look terrible in that he has a poor touch or really do anything overtly bad but in the aggregate he doesn’t look terrible nothing good. I hated the signing at the time and he’s been ever more of a hindrance than I expected. Dross You’re not wrong. What I meant is, he occasionally has a decent touch and the odd dribble past someone (down a blind alley)… But, he has absolutely no positive impact on our attack, so why the **** does he play? He has to come out of the starting 11 to improve us, he won’t though, so ideally we need him to get injured. Half the battle in the championship is occupying defenders, he doesn’t even do that. Daka might be severely limited as a footballer, but with his pace and movement he will trouble defenders. This then opens up space for your attacking midfielders and wingers… Thus making you more dangerous. Ayew does none of those things, all he does is hold onto the ball, and this is a major red flag regarding Marti, that he values that more than the ability to trouble defenders. RonnieTodger Posted 27 September 2025 Posted 27 September 2025 Get him off ****ing set pieces, it’s embarrassing. 2

Part of this is that he is (presumably) there to get the ball higher up the pitch, hold onto it until others join the attack and (get ready for the punchline) lay it off to the other attackers.

Haywood_6 Posted 30 September 2025 Posted 30 September 2025 Jordan Ayew was a dreadful signing, no two ways about it. You look at how smart the promoted sides have been in the market in the PL this season and then compare it to our shambles of recruitment last summer and there's no comparison. We never had a chance. Until Ayew and Daka leave it just feels like they’re draining the life out of watching us play 2

Enzo may or may not have kept us up but one thing that I can confidently say is that he would have never approved the signings of Ayew, Reid or Skipp. 9

What a wasted opportunity to build on the good foundation Enzo had built. I don't even hate Ayew, I do think he has his uses - namely, hold-up play and acting as a spoiler on the incredibly rare occasion we're ahead and looking to control the game. But I like many others was kidding myself when I said he'd be more dangerous up top in this league. He isn't. He's the Steve Howard you bring on after 70-75 mins to tussle with defenders and win cheap free kicks. I can't even see him making double figures at this rate, which considering he's being treated as our main man at present is laughable for a supposed promotion candidate. The fact that many are now calling for Daka to start ahead of him shows just how much he's fumbling the bag as first choice striker. Edited 30 September 2025 by OntarioFox 1

I just couldn't think of anyone else we've had who has done that sort of role in recent history besides him after we'd been promoted back to the second tier. I guess Ulloa did similar once Claudio came in... God, just mentioning Ayew in the same sentence makes me feel dirty 1

We may have been under extreme financial constraints from the owners and PSR but we ended up spending a fair chunk on those three and Odsonne. Particularly the outlay on Skipp. There have been some chinks of light with recent appointments but we can never have a repeat of that window. There is no leeway available if we are to get back on course.
Happy Fox Posted 30 September 2025 Posted 30 September 2025 He wears the number 9 whoever sanctioned that should be sacked..

Muzzy_no7 Posted 30 September 2025 Posted 30 September 2025 If he’s up front tonight then the Co-Op will be getting a visit.
HarryDee8 Posted 30 September 2025 Posted 30 September 2025 Why's he on corner duties? Don't we need his strength and height in the box?
Brooksy Posted 30 September 2025 Posted 30 September 2025 That final corner just summed up his time here didnt it
Popular Post Finnegan Posted 1 October 2025 Popular Post Posted 1 October 2025 (edited) Man has maybe the worst football intelligence I've ever seen. Never ****ing passes to his team mates, repeatedly runs with the ball when he should just play it forward. Slows down literally everything just to win set pieces he'll take himself but his delivery is awful and we can't score from them anyway. Great example of why the "eye test" of most of our fans is a load of rubbish. He runs around a lot and he's got an OK touch so he's getting a free pass from a significant amount of our supporters. One of the worst players we've had at the club in the post-Pearson era. Edited 1 October 2025 by Finnegan 9
Tommy Fresh Posted 1 October 2025 Posted 1 October 2025 Loved how long he was taking to take those corners at the end (not including time taken from the rec having words)
TheGoldenGod Posted 1 October 2025 Posted 1 October 2025 Every day that goes by, passing up on Richard Kone looks worse and worse....braindead!
Richmondfox Posted 1 October 2025 Posted 1 October 2025 Completely stunk out the game when he came on. As soon as he got the ball in the middle he would run to where Mavadidi was, ignore the pass and turn towards our goal. His hold up play is now on corners, which he then over hits. Another Marti from Marti. The first game where there has been so much energy and movement from the start. Let’s see if he continues to play the donkey.
