We definitely need to get a proper goalscorer in the door with Ayew being a decent option, either out wide or off the bench. Then expect to see the same shit happen as the last two seasons. He will never change his style of play and he isn’t good enough to not be team player. A decent manager would drop him so he would be a waste of resources.

Retiring the number 9 shirt would be effectively announcing to the world that we want to live in the past rather than look to the future. We'll never have another number 9 like Vardy, but that doesn't mean we should never have another number 9. What a future that was 🤣

Well the last two seasons he’s been a starter. I’m talking about him being more of an impact player rather than the main guy. Read my post again.
Analysethis Posted 8 January Posted 8 January For his age, he isnt a disaster. But for me his selfishness, lack of awareness around him, decision making and really his constant moaning makes me want to punt him out. It shows the desperation in me I`d want someone in first LOL but he has flattered to decisive all his career. I`d rather not have someone who whines so much as a coach to the club and would prefer to go a little old school and bring back more faces from our successful past. I cant believe he is the son of Abedi Pele BTW, his dad taught him nothing! 1
honeybradger Posted 8 January Posted 8 January What's worrying is that we are still looking at Ayew type signings in Antonio and Callum Wilson. I wouldnt be shocked if we renew Ayew, seems to be the exact kind of profile we are currently targeting in the transfer market - old and PL experienced. At least Ayew is different from Antonio and Wilson in that he's not a shoe in for be a regular for injuries. 1

It feels like being a striker in the box is an afterthought for him. His instincts is to hog the ball or cheat. Not great if you are starting the game or chasing. We are chasing more times than leading so his often repeated “skill set” is of little use. A poor tactical choice from Marti is keeping Ayew on all game and watching him become even lazier because he’s battered. I can’t wait till we see the back of him. He causes problems all over the pitch. He would rather see an attack break down than pass to a player or shoot when he has a chance. His two goals of late have came from him hanging in the box and not being involved in the build up. Like I said l’ll be surprised if he didn’t get another year. This is Leicester 2
Popular Post Aleksz Posted 17 January Popular Post Posted 17 January Can’t believe this thread hasn’t seen any action today, still raging about him. Utter shambles of a footballer, can’t run, doesn’t get in behind, doesn’t hold the ball up…. Cross after cross went in today and he was nowhere to be seen. Even the referees are seeing through his antics of trying to win fouls now. Would genuinely rather we had @Ric Flair’s Hippo up top. 5

He wasn't the problem today - contributed to a pretty damn good first half performance and actually put himself about a bit, which made a change. He's extremely limited and it's embarrassing that anyone at LCFC thought he was the answer to anything, but there are about 7 or 8 players on that pitch today - including the waste of space who came on for him - who I'd lay the blame on for throwing the game away before him. 1
Soar Fox Posted 17 January Posted 17 January Did a nice bit of skill earlier before running the ball out of play 4

StanSP Posted 17 January Posted 17 January This guy was on something today and it wasn't anything good. His ambling about at times, positional sense is woeful, doesn't actually help teammates. There were three occasions that stand out. Mavididi gets the ball in space in first half, goes down the wing as he should. Not much support to the right of him towards goal. What does Ayew do? Instead of drag defenders away and run towards goal, he comes back to behind Mavididi where Thomas would usually be. Delusional decision. Second is when Stephy was running through, and instead of making himself mobile he was just walking around as Stephy ran past him. Lazy and selfish play. Third was actually the earliest in the game of his terrible and selfish play. We're on the up, momentum with us playing nice slick one-touch passing, he decides to hold on to the ball, miscontrol it and ends up getting tackled. He is the epitome of a player that has no one else in mind but himself. Big ego, arrogant swagger at times but nothing to show for it. Barely ever looks happy to be at the club and demonstrates a forlorn figure. He may run around a bit and show glimpses of good play, but it's becoming rarer. He may not be the biggest issue, but he's a big contributor to why we are so inconsistent and why we have such a bad mentality around the squad. 1 1
whoareyaaa Posted 17 January Posted 17 January He went mad at Jakub when he missed that cross was a bit odd He did look more mobile today well in the first half anyway, surely he won't get another year
JimJams Posted 17 January Posted 17 January He did ok in all the areas but the one he should be in. I think the only time in the game where he took up a position you want your 9 in was in the first half where James plays him in, he's in line with the defender but because he's not really got the pace to get away from him he plays it back to JJ. He just does not have the instincts of a striker.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 17 January Posted 17 January Never seen a ‘striker’ so intent on taking up any position other than the one a striker should be in. He’s experienced enough to know what a striker needs to do, I think he’s just more interested in having the ball or going to try and get involved in things than doing what his team actually needs him to do. I was thinking earlier, though, I reckon the club gives him another deal. It will be the next brain dead decision taken by the management of this club just because he’s played so much and scored a few this season. 2
Tommy G Posted 17 January Posted 17 January His best attribute is winning fouls - just beyond shocking
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 17 January Posted 17 January Absolutely wank he's been. Clubs fault though not his, ridiculous signing really. Honestly can't wait to see the back of him, Daka, Soumare etc this summer. He isn't arsed. Offers nothing
Sky Blues Posted 17 January Posted 17 January 1 hour ago, Rubbersoul said: I think being a forward and the only thing about your game is winning fouls says it all Certainly would be a better player if he didn't fall over each time a player comes within a foot of him. He seemed to be in competition with Thomas on who could go down the quickest from just a small bit of contact. But he caused us problems each time he decided to stay on his feet.
GrobyLCFC31 Posted 17 January Posted 17 January (edited) With Daka out of contract in the summer & Evans having no minutes this season I really fear that he’ll get a 1 year extension! Massively kills our attacking momentum & a striker with more intelligence in their movement gets 1-2 today just by being in the right place for JJ/BDR and wingers crosses/cutbacks - we got into so many good areas! Edited 17 January by GrobyLCFC31
Corky Posted 17 January Posted 17 January If, ludicrously, he gets an extension it should be on minimal wages and as a squad filler. We desperately need a young, energetic striker. Our wingers haven't shone enough this season but playing with this bloke must be infuriating. 1
