Shamelessly stolen from Football Clichés but City focused.

What is the Leicester match you think of and go yeah that's the one when someone mentions a certain scoreline?

Obvious starter is the Southampton match when someone mentions 9-0

For me some are...

1-0 is Chelsea FA Cup final

2-1 is Palace in the play off final 1996

5-2 is a toss up between Man City away and Sunderland at home but Sunderland edges it.

0-0 is unfortunately Stoke away when we got relegated to League 1

Going back a bit lot

4-3 1963 when we beat Man U with hat-tricks from Ken Keyworth and Denis Law.

Did not see the game as I was locked out with hundreds/thousands? of other fans and one of the reasons I'm never optimistic about us.

Just found this.

Leicester City 4 Manchester United 3
Tuesday 16 April, 1963
Goals: Heath, Keyworth (3)

The Ice Kings

The legendary 'The Ice Kings' side regularly challenged for major honours and earned Leicester City a reputation for attacking football.

On an Easter Tuesday in front of a capacity crowd, City defeated Man Utd 4-3 just a day after they had drawn 2-2 at Old Trafford.

Leicester started the game equal on points with Tottenham Hotspur at the top of the table. Man Utd, despite the presence of Nobby Stiles, Law Denis and Bobby Charlton, were fighting relegation. Reserve Terry Heath, in for the injured Mike Stringfellow, put Leicester ahead in the 29th minute.

Law equalised two minutes later. In the second half, there were four goals in six minutes. Ken Keyworth netted a six-minute hat-trick between the 50th and 56th minutes – all of his goals came from Howard Riley crosses, with Law scoring his second in the 52nd minute.

Law completed his hat-trick 17 minutes later. Leicester went one point clear at the top of the table with five games to go, eventually finishing fourth and they lost to United in the FA Cup Final five weeks later.

City v Man City FA Cup 4th round Feb 1968. City won 4 -3 after losing 2-0 early on. 42,000 witnessed this brilliant match. Man City would go on to win the league. 3-1 at the Etihad in the title winning season. 5-3 against United 10 years ago. I could go on……

The 4-3 against Leeds in 1989 also deserves a mention in this category.

6-2 (2-6) v Birmingham City Dec '76.

Kenny Burns hat-trick on the ice.

We were Bambi on ice, embarrassingly bad.

Must admit this podcast did drift a bit in the second half - felt like they were just listing random Premier League games in the end!

I think a lot of this depends when you're born/era, too. 5-2 for me would definitely be Sunderland, though 4-0 might be Luton in the 1974 cup match.

1-1 could well be the Man Urd Vardy 11 in a row game, though again there are probably lots of contenders for 1-1.

Other "without thinking about it" ones, 3-0 Watford 2013 as we exorcised the playoff demons, 5-0 Cambridge in the playoff semi

6-1 - Ripping Wednesday a new one

One and only start for Rob Alleyne (as he was rubbish!)….

Stayed with me as a kid that game

3-2 and 4-3 wins - my two favourite games

1987 home vs Swindon and my first match.  Won after being 2-0 down; swear we scored three in last ten minutes and Mark Venus scored the winner

4-3 home vs big spending Leeds in 1989.  Leeds races to a 2-0 lead at half time; Paul Ramsey made it 2-2, Strachan with a cheeky penalty for Leeds before two late goals from Paul Moran and Gary McAllister sealed it

Beat me to it.

Def the 5-3 against Man Utd for me.

A very special day never to be forgotten by all that attended.

Ah...the eternal sunshine of the Pleat-less mind. I envy you. Where did you go for that treatment and how much did it cost?!

Probably a bit of recency bias but I can't think of a better 4-0 than against Swansea, Spring 2016.

Vardy was banned and Spurs fans thought we were a one-man team and that we'd struggle.

Ulloa absolutely battered Swansea.

It was also the weekend that the majority of Leicester fans felt confident that we'd go on and get the job done.

Edit - But the Leeds game had THAT goal.

Have to say whilst there are lots of winning games here, as a traumatised kid if you say Leicester and 4-3 it instantly makes me think of Swindon ****ing Town and Glenn bloody Hoddle.
