foxfanazer Posted 8 January Posted 8 January I worry about the mentality of any player looking at us and thinking it'd be an attractive proposition. The only draw would be financial due to the stupid contracts we hand out to bang average footballers 1 1
The boy Linacre Posted 8 January Posted 8 January Do we all presume, as there has been no activity that NOTHING will happen before the PSR results?? Is that next week? 13th?

I've heard more and more about people thinking we should just do what forest did - and double down on overspending to guarantee safety.
Popular Post Ric Flair Posted 8 January Popular Post Posted 8 January It's absolutely staggering we're going to go in to our next league game a week today without any new players. Even if things move very quickly (they seldom do) they won't be considered for the game and it's a massive game against a relegation rival. The way this club writes off games as they muck about getting new managers and players in is something else. 15 1

DezFox Posted 9 January Posted 9 January Just buy 5 young up and coming players for the 2-5 mill mark. If 2 of them make it you make loads of money. If one of them makes it you have a player as good and probably better than a 25mill skipp. If they don’t, you probs get money back and nearly all of them. Then when young players see a pathway and model that gets them to massive club they choose you. all sit favourable with PSR rules. I don’t know if it’s a mad idea, but perhaps the only way to be sustainable as realistically we a never going to be flirting with the top 6 apart from the occasional season when a few come good. probs not realistic 2
Pliskin Posted 9 January Posted 9 January Sounds like Ruud is taking his time ensuring he gets the right players. I’d prefer that in all honesty to just signing any ****er.

The only way we become sustainable is developing players. The problem is you ain't getting much quality nowadays for 2 - 5 mill in a youth player. Look at the 2 Bournemouth lads Huijsen and Kerkez both signed in the 15 -20 million euro bracket, you need a backroom team that knows its stuff. Ours doesn't and thats where we need to spend. You can then see why Skipp seems a fairly decent signing to the recruitment team at £25m - Premier league experience etc and only a few million more. In reality he isn't and we've landed ourselves with players we can't move on 1
The boy Linacre Posted 9 January Posted 9 January Apparently this is what RVN said today: Speaking in Thursday’s presser, van Nistelrooy admitted that the club are working day and night to sign players and he hopes they can announce something soon. “We’re in the middle of the process,” the Leicester boss said on January signings. “It’s clear where we want to strengthen. We’re working on that day and night. I feel a strong responsibility to get the right players in. “It’s a delicate process. It takes time. It requires a lot of effort and work to bring in the right players. “Those are the profiles we have been talking about with recruitment and the people responsible for signing these players. It started in December and hopefully we can present something soon.” What December 31st??? And if we are in the middle of the process then the signings will be after Palace & Fulham at H

henry56 Posted 9 January Posted 9 January So basically … we have 2 winnable home games coming up which if we lose will virtually end our hopes of staying up , but nothing will happen before then . unbelievable : Negotiations should have happened weeks ago
coolhandfox Posted 9 January Posted 9 January (edited) Ruud joined on 29th of November, would have need 2-3 weeks to assess the squad. So it could be he only told the club what he wants middle to late December. If you are going to buy player you have to buy ones the manager wants, no surprise we weren't ready to sign someone first week of Jan. Edited 9 January by coolhandfox

Won’t change until those at the top are gone and the club is sold. 1

I reckon I probably could have told them what I needed after the first training session 1
