Roony Bardjhi and Thiago Fernandez are both exceptionally talented young wingers and both sadly recovering from ACL tears. I'd still be in for them as we love an ACL. 2 1

I'd still be in for them as we love an ACL. Instead of us having this idea of wanting to find promising players who have lost their way in the game, why not just sign promising players who have had an ACL injury (and if you didn't have one before, we can arrange one). As soon as anyones ACL pings, we're there with £50 and a contract offer. Who isn't taking that deal? 1

Goes missing in games. Does have all the attributes to become a top player, but for us, now? No. Wife's a charlton fan so watch most of their games. That said @Ric Flair he's just scored two this afternoon, bullied the centre backs and the second goal was a sublime chip. If he stays fit would expect him to go on and play in the prem at some point as he has got the lot. 1

I wouldn't be too shocked to see RVN use his contacts in the Eredivisie and Manchester United as well. Isaac Babadi is apparently a decent prospect at PSV. 2
Sly Posted 29 December 2024 Posted 29 December 2024 Full back - Jon Armaburu / - Diego Moriera Centre Midfield - Rocco Reitz / Andrey Santos Left Midfield - Alberto Moliero The get Patrick Durgo to cover the midfield / defence! .

moore_94 Posted 29 December 2024 Posted 29 December 2024 It does worry me a bit that I don’t think it has been mentioned by Percy or Tanner etc. that we actually want a right back has it?

To be fair if you're Ruud you probably don't let anybody know what we're in for cos it undermines whoever they're replacing. Fine if you get a replacement, not so much if you don't.

There doesn’t seem to be any urgency in bringing players in either. While I could be wrong. It would seem the end of the window tactic where they believe better value can be had, which never works that way for us. And it’s not like we’re desperate.

Jazzy_Jeff Posted 29 December 2024 Posted 29 December 2024 After today I would say the priority list is now: RB ST CB if we can get those done early I wouldn’t turn my nose up at a left sided defender and right winger

Sol thewall Bamba Posted 29 December 2024 Posted 29 December 2024 A new back 4 and for them all to hit the ground running. Otherwise it's goodnight Vienna. 2
Matt Posted 29 December 2024 Posted 29 December 2024 A ****ing miracle. (I imagine this jokes been done to death. Disappointed if not.)
CloudFox Posted 29 December 2024 Posted 29 December 2024 RB CB RW ST LW We need to essentially replace our right hand side as a priority, from back to front in priority order. I don't think Justin or Coady can be first choice if we want to stay up. It seems inevitable Buonanotte will be recalled, so a right winger is a must too. If he does stay, at least that's competition/another option aside from Ayew there. 1
kingfox Posted 29 December 2024 Posted 29 December 2024 If the idea is to stick with the same formula we’ve been seeing over the past few games, then four positions are a clear priority. RB - Justin has been used as the higher pushing full-back recently. We desperately need a RB who is successful in attacking areas, dynamic and capable of taking players on. Doing some statistical number crunching, Wesley Franca(Flamengo), Pablo Maffeo(Mallorca) and Zakaria El Ouahdi(Genk) would be my top three choices. LB - Even though Kristiansen pushed up a little more in the second half today, it’s been clear that he has been the more reserved full-back in recent games, of course forming into a back three when in possession. The jury is still out on Kristiansen but regardless, it feels like we must get a better alternative in this position, this why signing someone like Valentin Gomez makes sense. CB - We can’t afford to persist with Coady and Vestergaard on a regular basis, it surely has to be one or the other. Hopefully we can find a Huth style solution, someone preferably with pace though. LW - Of course there’s been calls for a RW, but the way we’ve been setting up, an alternative to Mavididi on the left feels more crucial now. Quite simply we need another 1 vs 1 specialist with pace. There’s a few up-and-coming wingers that I wouldn’t mind, but Nicola Zalewski who is out of contract at Roma in the summer would make perfect sense, he could also be cover for Kristiansen. Another striker and central midfielder would also be nice, but the above four positions seem the most crucial for strengthening in January 👍🏻 1
cityfanlee23 Posted 29 December 2024 Posted 29 December 2024 Zalewski is probably worth looking at, can play LB and LM, I'd wager he could play LW too. Struggling for game time with only 500 minutes played in 10 appearances. Sign him in Jan for probably 5m, worth the punt. Welcome Max Gradel. 1
