They do care about us but the we don't care comment gets under so many skins it's unreal. Better than any form of abuse. I think it's only in our fairly recent years of successes, since our Prem win, FA Cup win, Community Shield win, top 5 placings and CL participation times they decided they didn't care about us as it must have been so demoralising and galling for them to see us being how we were that it was just the easy option to say we don't matter to them....We all know it was through gritted teeth. Believe me, they hate us! It's too historical for them not to. Edited 24 October 2024 by ElusiveEd 1

Believe me, they hate us! It's too historical for them not to. I can only speak for myself here but I've enjoyed watching your rise and wanted you to win the league. It's always good when the usual cartel gets shaken up and I feel similarly now about Villa. Variety is good for football although it's difficult to see anything like that happening again. Miracle stories like yours or our European Cup winning teams are reasons why we watch the game. 15
Spudulike Posted 24 October 2024 Posted 24 October 2024 I go back to 1971 (I was a nipper on the Main Stand enclosure wall). That night has never left me. Any road, it's 41 all at the moment.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leicester_City_F.C.–Nottingham_Forest_F.C._rivalry
Lako42 Posted 24 October 2024 Posted 24 October 2024 Leicester v Forest was the original Derby regardless of what people think or say today. 4

Where I think the problem comes from a Leicester point of view is that we don't 'care' as much as some Leicester fans would like us to. Again, I'm generalising as some fans on both sides will feel differently to this. My perspective over the years has been (again, in general) that Forest see Derby as rival #1. Leicester see Forest as rival #1 and want Forest to feel similarly and don't like it when we don't. This discussion always comes up when we play Forest. The real answer is not that difficult. Forest and Derby maintain their big rival is with each other. It’s an important part of their identity. Maybe it reminds them of past glories (1970s) when, briefly, they were important clubs in terms of the shake up for honours. For Leicester it is much more nuanced and depends what part of the county people live in. A saw a fan survey a few years ago and Leicester fans voted Forest their biggest rivals - but it was something like Forest 48%, Coventry 30% and Derby 22% (give a few percentage points either way). The important point to note was Forest came out as the biggest rivals, but less than half the fan base actually felt that way. I don’t know the numbers now, but I would imagine it would be similar. Perhaps more for Forest now we are both in the same division. One thing is for sure and I mean this seriously. The desperation of Leicester fans to be Forest’s main rivals is significantly less than the desperation of Forest fans to tell us that we’re not. As I say the rival thing is a much more important thing in a Forest fan’s identity. It’s rarely discussed here and generally only comes up when a Forest fan visits our board and raises it 2

Scanchez Posted 24 October 2024 Posted 24 October 2024 I don't even know who Nottingham Forest are. Are they any good?

I "dislike" Forest intensely for my own warped personal reasons, but I don't give a sh*t what they think about us.

They can't get over the fact their hero isn't seen by us as the bestest ever manager to grace a football club... Whisper it gently to them, that unless and until SC wins a league title or a cup, he won't be a contender for our top five managers. Oh, and apparently we're an entitled fanbase. Hint, it's not us who shout about our 'world-famous decaying football stadium'. Good luck in getting a replacement stadium built losers!

Wymsey Posted 24 October 2024 Posted 24 October 2024 If Forest lose, hope their owner doesn't wait outside by the referee's car and spits on it when the latter exits the stadium..

A couple of decisions our way and they will think the referee is against them.

Me I hate everyone we play on the day. Oh and the north London cvnts spuds every day.
Popular Post HesNotGudjonsonn2 Posted 24 October 2024 Popular Post Posted 24 October 2024 Just been enjoying reading the especially created thread on the Forest forum called ‘‘The Demise of Leicester City’. About 51 pages of people saying they don’t care about us. Good job they made a specific thread to address that point. People might have started to think they did care. Phew! 6

It'll be interesting to see which way the ref goes in this one, seeing as both sets of fans are convinced there's a conspiracy against them. 1

That's true actually. Got loads round me that complain about opposition players going down (even if it is a foul by us) yet as soon as we make a foul it's "refs are out for us" etc.
